“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to who we must give account.” Hebrews 4:13
People who acknowledge that there is a God, are also usually willing to acknowledge that He is everywhere. They are even willing to acknowledge that God knows everything, in word. However, most do not live with that truth in their lives.
Many believers try to live their lives with secret sins. Behind closed doors they live a different life. Language is used and actions are done that they would not want their pastor or fellow believers to know about. These are just the outward actions that can be seen. There are also the inner thoughts that go on also. As they do these things they often think that it is also hidden from God.
All over the world people love to have their own freedom. They want to be able to do what they want, when they want and how they want, with no one to tell them differently. They do not want to be accountable to anyone. Yet, at the same time they will hold another person accountable for his words or actions.
Every person will be held accountable for his words and actions by God. God sees everything, even the little things done in secret in your closed room or in your mind. There is nothing that God does not know or see.
It may seem at the moment that you are getting away with something, but God is still watching. Even when you think you are alone, you are not, God is still present with you. There will come a day when you must give an account to Him for every word, action and thought you did.
Since this is the case, you must strive to live your life for God all the time. Be willing to be accountable to God and to others. Watch what you do, say or think.
Live your life in such a way that you will not be embarrassed knowing that God is watching you. Keep it in your mind that God is always right there beside you.
I pray today that God will strengthen you to live for Him; that you will know that God is watching your every move; that you will be willing to give an account to God for all you do; and that everything you do, say or think will bring honor to Jesus.
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
Confidence is something every person has to some degree or more in various things. Most people have confidence that they will be able to walk when they get up in the morning; most are confident that they can drive a car; and most are confident that they will still be able to work at their job each day. While many have this inner knowledge that they will be able to do these things, there are many other areas they may not be so confident in. Some may not be confident that he will be able to accomplish the project at work he was given to do; another may not be confident with themselves in being able to drive the car through the heavy rains safely; while another might not feel they can keep going all day.
Faith gives us the inner confidence that we need. We know by faith that God is with us and will give us the strength to do all that is needed to be done. We can have confidence that God has given you the ability to do the job that is needed to be done. All these things are done with the inner part of you at peace…if you have faith.
Along with the confidence faith gives us assurance in what we do not see. Each day when a person turns on the light switch he has assurance that the light will turn on correctly. Every day a person drives down the road he believes with assurance that the other people driving will stay in their own lanes correctly. We know that each day the sun will rise at the correct time. None of these things can be seen until it actually happens. We can only have faith that they will occur as expected.
In life there are many things that we cannot see, but must have faith in. Our walk with God will be like that, in fact it must be like that. God said that the righteous will live by faith. No one can see God or what He is going to do. Each person must trust (have faith) in God and that He will do what He said He would do. We cannot see heaven but must have faith it will be there for us. We cannot see God’s provision from day-to-day, but we must have faith that God will provide. We can know that we know what we know about God.
Today exercise you faith in trusting God. Do not allow fear of the unknown to overcome you. Know that with God all things are possible. Know that God can give you what you need whenever you need it in every area of your life.
I pray that today God will help you to have the faith you need in Him; that God will give you the confidence you can have in Him; that God will help you to know the truths found in the Bible and know they are true; and that God will strengthen you to be able to walk by faith and not just by what you see.
“And, ‘But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.’ But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” Hebrews 10:38-39
Again the author quotes an Old Testament passage. This passage is from Habakkuk 2:4. The quote was looking forward to when Jesus–the Righteous One–would come. He had to live by faith. Jesus knew the path that God had set out for Him. He knew He would go through much persecution and finally death on the cross. In all of this Jesus had to have complete faith in God’s plan and that God would raise Him from the dead in the end. By natural sight Jesus could not see any reason God’s plan would work. He lived by faith.
God also states that He has no pleasure in those who shrink back. This shrinking back is backing away from His plan and refusing to have faith in it. Often people have read that God loves us, and will care for us and meet all of our needs. Yet, they get scared every time something goes wrong that God has left them and will not meet their needs. People often feel they need to help God in meeting the need. God does not like this at all.
Today you need to be of those who do not shrink back. Each day you need to walk forward in faith fully trusting God and His plan for your life. Do not be a disappointment to God.
I pray that today God will strengthen your faith in Him; that God will help you to live by faith; that you will not shrink back in any way from what God has for you; and that you will be pleasing to God.
