Deuteronomy 32:3 Proclaim God’s Name

Town crier

I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! Deuteronomy 32:3

To proclaim something is to talk about it, to let something be known to others. It is to open about some information or news.

Many years ago in nations that had a king, the king would have people who were town criers. They would go out through a town crying, shouting out loud, that the king had some news for the people. Later in time, the newspaper companies had people walking around to sell papers. As they would try to sell the papers, they would shout out loud some part of the news to get the people’s attention to buy the paper.

Those people were not ashamed to shout out that they had some important information that they felt every person needed to hear about. They did not keep silent with what they knew.

Today when people know of some great news, they are quick to talk about it. When they know of some great person, who does great work, they are quick to tell others about that person.

As Moses is getting ready for his death, he states that he proclaims the name of the Lord and praises God’s greatness. He will not be silent with what he knows about God.

The world really does not know who God is. They do not know what He can do or has done. People need to let the people know this information.

God has many names that are attached to His name. He is God the Healer, God the Provider, God our Salvation, God our Helper, God our Peace, God our Banner and many more. Believers can go around proclaiming these names of God.

Take a moment and think about all the great things God has done for you and how great He really is to you. This is great news! Now you need to take the time to proclaim what you know.

Do not be ashamed to shout this information on the streets and from the rooftop. You have the greatest news the world has ever heard. No news story can top the greatness of the news of Jesus.

As you praise God for what He has done or is doing in your life, proclaim it to this dark and dying world. Tell everyone what you know about God. Let them know Jesus.

What can you shout out today?

I pray today that you will realize how great God is; that you will proclaim the news of Jesus to this world; that you will tell others of what God can do and has done; and that you will give God praise for His greatness.

Isaiah 40:8 Shout “Here Is Your God!”

You who bring good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!” Isaiah 40:8

God had chosen to allow Judah to be sent into exile for a time for their refusal to follow Him. Once that time was up they were allowed to go back to their land. As the people are going back to the land, they are able to bring good news. It was good news that they were going back to the land, and they had good news that God was with them.

While in exile, many of the people felt that God had abandoned them. It did not appear as though He had remembered them while in exile. Yet, it was not true. The greatest news was God was with them, and they were to shout it out loud to everyone. They were to point out to everyone who God is.

This passage is also part of the prophecies pointing to Jesus. Later Jesus would be called Emmanuel, which means, “God with us”. The difference in the news that the Israelites had and what can be proclaimed today, is that God is with believers and Jesus has removed all of their sins.

There may be times when you go through a struggle and feel as though God has left you…it is not true. God is always right there beside you. You just have to acknowledge Him and believe Him.

As you know and realize God is with you, then you must also shout it out. Let the world know who God is. Too often believers are afraid to shout it out. They are afraid of what others might think or do. Yet, every person deserves the right to hear about Jesus, not just you and few of your friends.

The world may not like you shouting it out, but you have the greatest news of all time. Those that are willing to hear, will hear and respond. It will bring encouragement to other believers, and will point Jesus to those who don’t believe.

As you go through your day today, let everyone you come in contact with that, “Here is your God!”

I pray today that you will know that God is with you; that you will know God remembers you; that you will not be afraid to proclaim God is with you; and that you will be a bold witness to everyone you meet.
