Matthew 25:32 Are You A Sheep Or A Goat?

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. Matthew 25:32

In every workplace there are two types of people. There are some who do what they are told and expected to do and there are some who do not do what they are told or expected to do.

The boss who is aware of what is going on will often reprimand or fire the one who does not do his job. The others will be honored and raised up.

Jesus says that in the end everyone will be divided as sheep and goats. The sheep are those who did His will and the goats are those who did not do His will.

Just as it is in the workplace, are people in the church. In every church there are many people who claim to follow Jesus and believe in God. Some are telling the truth, while others are not.

Many go to church to look good or to escape hell, but very few actually go to church to be built up and to build others up. Those few will go out and reach the lost in many different ways. They will not just sit in a church pew and expect people to come to them.

Sheep will obey their master and do what he says and go where he leads. Goats, on the other hand, will do their own thing, not obeying or following anyone.

God is looking for and expecting people who claim to believe in Jesus to do what God has said to do. Even though someone claims to believe in Jesus, if he does not do what God says, then he will be cast into hell in the end.

If you claim to be a believer and follow Jesus, you are already on the right track. However, your actions must follow your words.

Do not allow yourself to claim Jesus, but do as the world does.

Seek God’s Holy Spirit to guide you in ways you can reach out and touch the lives of other people for God. This can be in witnessing and telling them about Jesus and in practical ways of meeting their needs when you can.

There is coming a day when God will separate the people. Will you be seen as a sheep or a goat?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know what God desires of you; that your actions will match your words; that you will do what God wants you to do; and that God will see you as one of His sheep.

Revelation 18:4 Get Out While You Can

Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;” Revelation 18:4

In places where there is a major disaster about to occur, such as a hurricane or a major fire, people are encouraged to leave. The encouragement to leave is for their protection and safety in the long run. It is an attempt to keep them from possible death or major injury.

Many people will heed the warnings, while others will try to ride out the disaster.

In John’s vision he sees that Babylon is about to be judged and destroyed. There is a voice that calls for the people to come out. This is so that they will not share in the sins or destruction of Babylon.

The majority of the world is living in a sinful way, with no regard to the future. They are living to be pleased in the moment, not realizing the danger that is ahead of them.

God has called His people out of the life of sin. He has forgiven them and has a plan for them in heaven. Yet, until Jesus returns, every believer is still living in this fallen world. Although believers live in this world, they do not have to partake in its sin.

Everyone who does not follow Jesus will eventually be judged and condemned for eternity. It will be the greatest disaster that mankind will have ever experienced when God judges the world for its sin.

No person has to be under God’s judgement, if He will only choose to repent of his sins and follow Jesus. Every day God is calling His people out of the world of sin into His righteousness and holiness.

No matter what you have done in your past or are currently doing today, God is calling you to step out of those sins. His does not desire to have you caught up in His final judgement against all mankind for un-repented sins.

Choose today to turn away from sin. Repent and follow Jesus with all of your life. Be in this world, but not of this world. God is ready and willing to forgive you of all sins and give you eternal life.

When Jesus returns, it will be for final judgement or for eternal life. Are you getting out while you can?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will repent of all sins; that you will flee the life of sin; that you will follow God with all of your heart; and that you will not have to share in the final judgement that God will bring upon this world.

Revelation 14:1 How Are You Identified?

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. Revelation 14:1

Having a way to identify people is very important for many businesses. They will have their own uniform and some form of identification tag.

Each business will have a slightly different way to identify their workers. This helps the employer and the customer know who are the workers. Without a mark of identification, there would only be chaos and confusion among everyone.

In a vision, John sees Jesus and 144,000 people standing on Mount Zion. These people had the name of Jesus and God marked on their foreheads.

The world likes to identify itself by what one has or what one does. Temporary physical things are what identify those who have not chosen to follow Jesus.

Believers are to be marked as belonging to God and are different from the world. They have a mark upon them that is completely different and separate from the world’s way of marking a person. The mark of a believer is one of supernatural peace, one of being different, one of striving to be holy, one of being guided by an eternal perspective, one of knowing that this world is not his final home, and more.

Every person who is marked as belonging to God, will be set apart from the world. His manner of talking and acting will be different, because he is guided by God’s Holy Spirit with God’s word as the rule book on how live. He will not look like or act like the world, but strives to be more and more like Jesus every day.

Being different will give reason for the world to ask why there is something different. It will give the chance to be a witness of who Jesus is.

Allow God to mark you with His mark. Live your life as God would have you live it, separate and different from the world, full of peace and life. You are set apart as holy and dedicated to God in this dark and fallen world.

As you live by God’s standards of love and holiness, you will be identified as different in this temporary world. God knows who are His and sees His mark upon their foreheads and hearts.

How are you identified today?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will have God’s mark upon your life; that you will live your life by God’s holy standards; that the world will see that you belong to God; and that you will be a witness for Jesus in this world.

2 Timothy 1:9 Holy For His Purpose

He has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 2 Timothy 1:9

As people grow up and begin to leave school and home, they want to know their purpose in this life. They strive to find out why they are there and what they are to do.

In the process of searching for this answer, many will seek guidance and help from any and every one, with very few filters to block out bad advice.

Paul reminds Timothy that they are saved and called to live a holy life because of God’s own purpose and grace.

When Adam and Eve chose to sin and fall away from God, God did not have to provide a way of salvation from the fall into sin. He provided that salvation out of His great love and grace upon man.

As He provides the needed salvation, He is also willing to guide a person as to how he should live his life. The life God calls each believer to live is one that is holy, separated from the world and sin. This new way of living has nothing to do with what the believer had done, but because of His purpose.

God wants every person to live the best life possible. In order to have that life, one must turn from all sin and be holy as God is holy. When one is living a holy life, it is a representation of who God is. It reveals His perfect love that is at work in the life of the believer. Seeing this perfect love will draw others to Jesus, building His kingdom.

If you are seeking the purpose for your life, look to God. Your purpose starts with being holy as He is holy. This begins with repentance of all sins and turning away from sin. Turning away from sin is not legalism, but love for God and for others.

As you choose to live for God and turn from sin, God can do great works in and through you in order to build His kingdom.

Your purpose in this life is to live for God and build His kingdom. Do not shrink back from what God has called you to do and be.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will turn towards God and away from all sin; that God will strengthen you to be holy as He is holy; that you will find your purpose in God; that you will know His amazing grace and love; and that you will pass on God’s grace and love to others.
