2 Chronicles 32:8 God Will Fight For You

“With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said. 2 Chronicles 32:8

Battles are occurring all the time all over the world. While some are physical battles of war, the majority are social battles with words and emotions or battles with physical health. During times of battles, one can feel as though there is no hope, that the enemy is greater and more powerful, and defeat is inevitable so fear sets in.

As Sennacherib was getting ready to attack Judah, Hezekiah told the people that God was with them to help and fight the battle, while Sennacherib only had flesh to fight. The people were encouraged.

No one in completely immune from battles. Some battles appear very small and easy to win, while many are large and ominous, causing one much fear and expectancy of defeat. The world often fights these battles on their own, in their own physical strength.

These battles wear a person down physically, emotionally and spiritually when they are fought on their own. Often one feels as if he is completely alone in the battle.

Believers are also not immune to these battles. Along with all the normal physical battles the rest of the world may face, believers are also attacked for their stand for God. However, rather than living in fear, believers can stand strong knowing that God is right by their side to help them and to fight their battles.

God will always give perfect wisdom as to how to deal with the battle in one’s life and then He will also bring about victory in miraculous ways. Victory in the end is always guaranteed for the believer who trusts in God.

Throughout your life you will face many different types of battles. Some will be massively huge, while others will be relatively small. Realize that you do not have to face the battle alone. God is right by your side to give you strength and wisdom in fighting the battle.

Every battle you face will only be the arm of flesh coming against you that can only destroy the body but cannot kill the soul. God has you in His hands and will fight for you to give you victory in the end. Trust God for that victory.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see God’s help in times of battle; that you will know God’s strength in a battle; that you will see God’s victory over the enemy in your life; and that you will have confidence in God’s abilities and promises.

2 Kings 19:6 Do Not Believe

Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid of what you have heard–those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.” 2 Kings 19:6

The enemy of any people group or of a nation will always strive to spread false truths to bring down the morale of the people and raise up more fear. Whenever people begin to fear, they become more vulnerable and can be more easily overcome or swayed to a different way of thinking and acting.

Hezekiah was terrified at the threats of Sennacherib. Isaiah told him that God said to not be afraid of the words Sennacherib spoke against Him.

Every believer has enemies that are trying to tear them down and overcome them with fear. The world threatens believers on a regular basis in many different ways. Their desire is to cause the believer to fear and give into their ways.

Although the world appears to be tough and powerful, they are nothing in the eyes of God. No one can overcome the power and authority of God in the life of one who believes and follows Him with all of his heart.

God has a plan for all of His people, the believers and the world cannot overcome that plan. At most the world can take the physical life of a believer, but then he is promoted into eternity with God.

Instead of believing the threats of the world, believers must turn to God and believe His word in their lives. When Jesus rose from the dead, He had overcome the worst that the world can throw at a believer.

God speaks truth while the world is speaking lying threats and fear. Do not fear the lies but believe God’s truth.

As a believer there will be some in the world who will threaten you in various ways. The world does not want you to believe in and follow God and will do whatever it takes to break you down.

Do not allow yourself to be overcome with fear, but trust in the Lord your God who has overcome death defeating the enemy. Do not believe the lies that the world is speaking in blasphemy against God to cause you to fear.

Know that Jesus is with you, and He has overcome death. The enemy cannot defeat God nor you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as Lord and Savior; that you will know the power God has; that you will believe God’s words; that God will strengthen you to not believe the threats of the world; that you will have peace in following God; and that God will defeat your enemies.
