Job 27:11 Teach Of God’s Power & His Ways

School teacher

I will teach you about the power of God; the ways of the Almighty I will not conceal. Job 27:11

Currently in the movie industry there have been many movies made recently of superheroes. Each superhero has a different power and ability. People love to talk about each superhero and what his/her power is and how great it is. They like to discuss who has the best power and why it is the best power.

Along with talking about superheroes, people like to talk about the politicians. Many discussions, and arguments, are made as to who is good and who is bad. They argue about which one has the best policies and the worst policies on how to get things done in the government.

After listening to his friends for a while, Job tells them that he will teach them about the power of God and His ways. Job had been following God faithfully for many years and had some experience behind him. He had a understanding of who God is, even though he did not know everything.

First hand experience can tell a lot. It can tell what a person knows from being right there. Believers get to have some experience in getting to know who God is and how He works. Every person has a slightly different experience as to how God works, but each one can talk about it.

Sharing about the power of God and how He works is what believers are supposed to be doing. As Jesus was leaving the earth, He told the disciples to go out into the world to be His witness and make more disciples. This is just telling people about His power and His ways.

For Jesus to be able to rise from the dead and remove all sins, shows extremely great power. Pointing out that God loves a person and wants to forgive them of their sins, show His great love and ways.

You have experience in your life as to who God is, His ways and His power. Be willing to teach others about God. Do not hold back and conceal any thing that you know about God, others need to know Him.

Sharing these truths about God, will give others a chance to get to know God. It will open the doors for others to choose to follow Jesus and be saved.

What are you teaching others today?

Today I pray that you will know the power of God; that you will know the ways of God; that you will tell others about God’s power and ways; that you will not fear being God’s witness; and that you will walk in God’s power and strength.

Acts 19:15 Do The Demons Know You?

A Person Thinking

One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” Acts 19:15

A Jewish chief priest named Sceva, had seven sons. They were going around trying to cast demons out of people in the name of Jesus that Paul preached about. At one point a demon responded to them about knowing Jesus and Paul, but had no idea who they were. Immediately afterwards, the man with the demonic spirit jumped them and severely beat them up.

In many parts of the world, people strongly believe in demonic forces, while in other parts, very few people believe in demonic forces. In places where they do not really believe in these types of forces, they often think of them as a game or a fantasy.

Yet, demonic forces are a reality in this life. Often they are not seen as demonic forces, but mental illnesses or other problems in the life of a person.

Those who think that demonic forces are just a game, can be in for a surprise, since they are real. The demons know who Jesus is. They have directly seen and been in battle with Him for thousands of years.

Believers who truly follow Jesus, will be seen and known by the demonic spirits. A strong believer in Jesus will make an impact in the spiritual realm of this world. Those who follow Jesus know the power that Jesus has available for them to use. It is not their own power or the power of another person, but the power of God in their life.

Every believer is to be clothed with Jesus Christ. When the demons see the believer, he will see Jesus Christ. Demons have to flee from the presence of Jesus Christ, because He is holy and righteous and has power over them.

You may not ever have to deal directly with a demonic spirit, but you will have to deal with people in this world who do not know Jesus. When they look at you, who do they see? Do they just see another person in this world? Or are you someone different, clothed with Jesus?

When you approach those who are of satan, do they see Jesus in you? Do they recognize you as a believer in Jesus, with the power of God? Or are you just another person claiming to know Jesus?

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will walk and talk as Jesus did; that the world will see you as a follower of Jesus; and that the demonic world will tremble around you because you have Jesus at your side.

Mark 6:2 Amaze Them

Mountain

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue and many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing?” Mark 6:2

Jesus went back to His hometown to speak to the people and perform miracles there. As He was speaking many people were amazed at Him. All they saw was a little boy who had grown up in a carpenters house and is now a grown man who spoke with authority. They were amazed and wondered how He got that ability.

Growing up as a carpenter’s son, Jesus would not have received training to be a great speaker or to be a preacher. His training was to be a carpenter.

However, when He spoke He spoke with authority and wisdom. No one who had grown up around Jesus could understand how He could do so much. They did not see what could not be seen. Jesus was speaking and doing miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit in His life.

Over the centuries there have been many different great speakers in this world, but most have received some training in how to speak that way. They have worked in the realm of public speaking, getting better and better until they became great.

A believer has something different. Yes, a believer can go to bible college and get a degree, but that will only move a person only so far forward, then fall short. The unseen ingredient is the infilling and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The brand new believer can speak with great authority and do miracles, if he allows God to guide Him and he is doing what God wants him to do.

When you allow God to guide you, you will amaze those who know you. You will be a new creation in Jesus Christ. You will have wisdom and understanding that the world will not understand.  You will be able to perform miracles that the world cannot explain. You will speak with the words of God and not your own words or the words and wisdom of this world.

As you go through this life, what are people saying about you? Do they see a changed person? Are they amazed at what you are doing or saying?

Allow them to see God through you.

I pray today that you will be guided by God’s Holy Spirit; that you will speak only with the words and wisdom of God; that the world will see Jesus through you; and that many will know Jesus because of you.

Knowledge Is Power

Knowledge Is Power

With schools starting up around the nation, one of the common statements being heard is that knowledge is power. Students from kindergarten, all the way through graduate schools are told this statement. It is believed to be started by Francis Bacon, a philosopher and scientist, in 1597. This makes the statement several hundred years old.

The thought behind this statement is that if you have knowledge, you will have more power than someone else who does not have that knowledge.

Having this power is something that can be used in positive or negative ways. Some positive things that can occur with knowledge are: being able to read and communicate clearly; knowing how to do something safely; knowing what is happening around you correctly; knowing the warning signs that are showing; and knowing how to make things better. These are just a few of the many examples of how knowledge can help be a positive thing. They give you the power to do the correct thing in the best way possible.

Positive Power

At the same time, knowledge can be used in very negative ways. Having knowledge of a person’s past can allow one to destroy that person. Having knowledge of a person’s habits can allow one to overcome and hurt that person. Criminals use knowledge to steal from a person or business, or harm someone. Their knowledge gives them power over another person, who does not realize what they know. The media uses knowledge all the time to make or destroy a public person’s reputation.

Bullying, word cloud concept on white background.

As a believer, the question can be asked if knowledge gives power or not? And is that a good thing or not?

Proverbs 9:10 New International Version (NIV)
10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Here is a common verse that many know. Fearing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to correctly use knowledge that you have been given or learned. To fully understand anything correctly, you must have knowledge of God. Without God at the forefront of all knowledge, there will be faults in the knowledge.

There is great power in knowing God. It is in knowing God that a person can know who He really is. In knowing God, one can also really know who he, himself, is.

The world tries to make knowledge a god. However, knowledge is just a tool that God can use. Knowledge, alone, does not make a person powerful, but it is in how that knowledge is used and what knowledge is used.

As you get to know God and gain knowledge about God, you will be empowered for greater things to be done. It is in knowing God that you get to know how much He really does love you, regardless of what you have done in the past. This knowledge empowers you to live more for Him.

Knowing God allows you to know the gifts that He has for you. God has given you His Holy Spirit to allow you to do greater works for Him.  Knowing that you have His Holy Spirit in you, also gives you power to have His peace and comfort at all times, in all situations in this life.

Knowing God

Knowing God and what He has done for you, gives you power to be able to tell others who He is, what He has done, and what He can do for them. If you do not really know God, you will not be able to stand up and really tell others about Him or what He can do.

Knowing God allows you to understand what is going on around you from an eternal perspective. You can realize the sin that is occurring or the work that God is doing in the lives of others. You can have understanding and insight into what people are really saying or how they are really living.

Knowing God also takes away the fear of what the world can do to you. In knowing God, you will know that you have a future in heaven that no man can take away from you. You have an eternal life to look forward to, if anyone on this earth should take your life here.

God of power

Having the correct knowledge does really give you great power. It is not just in knowing things of this earth, but in knowing the God who made it all possible. It is knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior that gives you greater power than even the devil, himself, has.

It is God who has all the power. It is God who gives all the power. So, yes,  knowledge is power, but do you have the correct knowledge? The world’s? Or God’s?
