Proverbs 30:5 Perfect Words

Bible by lake

Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Proverbs 30:5

There thousands of manuscripts of different ancient Greek stories or some other foreign writing out in circulation. With each of the translations there are many different differences of opinion as to what was originally said. There are many faults in the what was written.

There are also thousands of books that have been written giving information on how to do something. In most of these books there can be faults as to what was written. It can also be found that many different books deny the ‘facts’ in other books. Truth is hard to come by.

The writer of this proverbs knows that the word of God is perfect with no flaws in it. One can hold on to it and be protected by God.

God has allowed His word to be written down so that people can know what He has said and what He desires. These words that He has said are perfect words that work for every person. God has worked out all of the details in His word to a point of perfection.

Reading and listening to His word gives a person everything that they need to know in how to live on this earth and prepare for eternity. It reveals who God is.

When a person holds onto His word and follows it, God will be a shield around the person. The person is taking up his refuge in God and His word, not in the temporary things of this world.

Having God’s word in one’s life brings about a peace and comfort of His security and love. Without His word, there is no hope in this life, it is eat, live, die.

Throughout your life you will have many situations to deal with. Go to God’s word to seek how to deal with them. Hold on to His promises that He has for you. Know the hope you have in Jesus Christ, knowing that all this life will end some day and you will have eternity in heaven.

You can trust God’s word to you. It will never fail you. God will never fail you. Instead of holding on to the things of this world that will fade away and fail, hold onto His word.

God will hold on to and protect you when you hold to and follow His word for your life.

I pray today that you will know God’s word to you; that you will trust God’s word; that you will know the security in God’s word; and that you will know the truth in God’s word.

Psalm 146:3 Don’t Trust

Small waterfalls

Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. Psalm 146:3

Trust in people is a common thing, especially in some leaders. Leaders are often expected to be able to do their job and lead well. They are expected to lead the people in the correct way and never make a mistake.

Over time there have been some leaders who have been very great leaders. They appeared to always do what was best for those under them.

People look to their leader to do a great job. They put all of their trust in the leaders.

The author of this psalm tells the people to not put all their trust in human beings. The main reason for this is that they cannot save at all.

Every person can probably think of someone who is a great person. They appear to always do the right thing every time. Many will choose to trust and follow that person, because of what he appears to be.

Many believers in the church often fall into this same problem of trusting people. They trust some speaker or preacher with blind trust. They put that person above God’s word or His Holy Spirit.

However, no matter how good a person is, there will come a time that the person will fail, he will fall short. Humans can do a lot of good things. They can overcome some major problems in the life of someone else. They can provide a lot of help, but they cannot meet every need that a person has.

The greatest need a person has is to be saved from all sin, from the wrath of God that is to come. No person can save anyone from that, other than Jesus. All real trust must be in God, alone. God is the only One who is perfect and will never fail.

Think about where you put your greatest trust. Are you following some leader, in or out of the church? Be careful on putting trust in any person. Refocus and put all of your real trust in God. As God leads you, you can trust people.

People will fail you and it will hurt. However, God will never fail you or hurt you. Only Jesus can help you with your greatest need, to forgive you of your sins and help you live like He does, righteous before God. Put your real trust in Jesus, the real Savior of your life.

I pray today that God will open your eyes to what people are like; that you will know that you can trust God; that you will put all of your trust in Jesus; and that you will know the salvation Jesus provides.
