1 Chronicles 11:12 A Mighty Warrior

Next to him was Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite, one of the three mighty warriors. 1 Chronicles 11:12

Throughout the history of every military force throughout the world there are always listed some great warriors. These are men and women who were heroes in some way. Often these are people who have sacrificed their lives to save others or led a group into a near suicidal battle situation and won.

Great warriors are ones who have gone far above the basic expectations to get the job done, regardless of the cost to their own selves.

Eleazar, son of Dodai, was listed as one of David’s three mighty warriors.

Being a soldier in the military requires a level of commitment that many don’t have. Taking that to the next level of being a great or outstanding soldier requires an even higher level of dedication. Out of all the people in the world, very few will ever be a part of a military.

However, every believer is part of an army–the army of God. They are in a war that has been going on since Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden. This army is not one that is out to kill other men to gain victory and become great.

It is an army that is against the spiritual strongholds in the lives of people. Believers who are great warriors for God are the ones who spend time in prayer, spend time being a witness, and spend time tearing down the evil strongholds in hearts and lives of people and nations.

These warriors are not armed with physical guns and bombs, but with the armor and weapons of God. Wearing salvation, the gospel message, shielded by faith, holding the weapon of God’s word and led by the Holy Spirit they can defeat any enemy stronghold.

You have the opportunity, regardless of your position in this life, to be a great warrior for God. Put on the full armor of God and allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit into battle against the dark spiritual forces in this world.

Face the enemy of God bravely knowing that Jesus has already won the battle and can give you victory. Be willing to stand out as different in following God into battle. Don’t be just an average believer, but an outstanding and mighty warrior for God. Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will wear God’s armor; that you will be led and strengthened by the Holy Spirit; that God will use you to tear down the enemy’s strongholds; and that you will be a m

Zephaniah 3:17 God Will Rejoice Over You

The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

As Israel was being punished for rejecting God and following false gods, God showed Zephaniah that there would come a day when it would be different. God would be saving the people and taking great delight in them. When Jesus came to the earth, God would reach out to the people and provide the salvation that they need. At that time God would be rejoicing over His people.

When a person, who has known God, but walked away from Him, he is usually very miserable. He feels the punishment or correction of God upon his life. God is trying to call him back.

Once the person returns to God, often he still feels the guilt of his past. He feels as though God is still not happy with him and is punishing him for his past sins.

God does not work that way. The purpose in His sending His Son Jesus was to provide for salvation from the past sins. Jesus removes all the sin and guilt in the life of a person. His righteousness is imparted onto the person, so that the person can stand before God.

At that point God rejoices in His child. His infinite love for the person takes over and God rejoices.

If you have chosen to repent of your sins and follow Jesus, God is also rejoicing over you. He is the mighty warrior who can overcome all the sin in your life and remove that sin. God is excited to spend time with you. Because of His great love, He does not want to rebuke you anymore, but to shower His love down upon you.

All of heaven rejoices when one sinner is saved. God is in that group of those in heaven rejoicing over you. God is jumping up and down with joy to spend time with you. He is singing songs to the angels in heaven about you.

You no longer have to fear God, because He is there for you, not against you. Build that great relationship with God today. He is not out to strike you, but to spend time with you and rejoice over you.

I pray today that you will know God’s love for you; that you will know Jesus removed your sins; that you will know God is not out to rebuke you; and that you will know God loves to spend time with you.
