Luke 8:39 Talk About What God Has Done

“Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:39

It is common for many people to desire to be in the limelight of things occurring. They want to be where the big action is, where everyone else appears to be or wants to be.

In seeking only these positions, many will miss many other great opportunities. Not everyone can be in the limelight or just at the big events. Not everyone can travel with the best or top person.

After being healed from demonic possession, a man wanted to travel with Jesus. Jesus denied the request, but told him to go home and tell everyone what God had done. The man did as Jesus said.

Just as people in the world want to be in the highlighted positions, many in the church want those same positions. They want to work right alongside the pastor or speaker, being seen by everyone as important.

While the pastor or speaker does need a few people alongside of him to help, he does not need that many. What is really needed is people to go into their own neighborhoods and places they normally go to be a witness for Jesus.

Individual believers can touch other individuals better than a large name speaker. People want to hear direct testimony of what God has done and is doing from people that they personally know. It adds a greater level of proof and reliability to the story that is often lost in a big name person.

Every believer has an experience with God to tell others about. If every believer was to go out and tell every person that he knows, the whole world will hear about Jesus in a personal way.

You have your own stories of experiences of what God has done and is doing in your life. Instead of just running after positions in the church or community, be willing to share those stories with those you meet each day.

There is someone out there that needs to hear what you have to say. There is someone out there who will give their heart to Jesus because of a story that you may tell.

Don’t hold back and just sit in the pews at church, but go out and share your story with everyone you can today.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will seek ways to talk about Jesus to others; that God will open your eyes to those who need Jesus; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.
