John 7:6 Only At The Right Time

Therefor Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do.” John 7:6

The Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was occurring in Judea. The disciples wanted Jesus to go to the festival in order to do miracles and present Himself to the world. Jesus did not want to go at the time, because He said it was not the right time to do that…yet.

Timing is very important. Yet, many people ignore timing of things in their lives.

When farmers plant their crops, they must do it at the right time. If they plant to early, the plants will not begin to grow. If they plant to late, the plants will not be able to grow enough. Many people try to grow a garden and do not keep in mind the timing of when to plant or when to harvest the food.

Businesses must be aware of the right timing to sell certain items. Selling notebooks and pencils must be done at the right time. If a store sets the out to be sold in June, they will not sell many, because people are not in the mindset to purchase those items. School is over and it is the wrong time. They look to buy those items in late summer, getting ready for school again.

God has a timetable of when things should occur. Because He knows the past, present and future of every person on this earth, He knows the best time for everything to happen. The disciples may never have understood why Jesus did not go right away to the festival, but Jesus did. He was following what His Father wanted Him to do and in His Father’s timing, not His own.

There will come times when you will ask God to do something for you, a healing, provision, or some other provision in your life. God may hold off for a time, because it is not the right time or He may do it right away. It is to be done at the right time.

Or God may put it in your heart that someday you may do something specific, but not right away. He wants you to wait for the right time to start. God will guide you when the time is right to begin, if you allow Him to do so.

Wait on God’s perfect timing for everything. Trust His timing.

I pray today that you will trust God’s guidance in your life; that God will show you His time for everything in your life; that you will only move in God’s timetable; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.

John 2:4 In His Time

Wedding Feast

“Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” John 2:4

Jesus and His disciples had went to a wedding in Cana. While there the host had run out of wine. Mary mentioned that to Jesus. He asked why she tried to involve Him. Later Jesus had the servants pour water into the glasses. As the water was drank, it was turned into wine.

All throughout the bible people are told to ask God for what they need. They are to be bold in what they request and seek God for. There are many examples of people asking for things and God providing the need.

However, there are also many times that a person asks God for something and does not get it. Sometimes he does not get it right away, while at other times he never receives what was desired. This has to do with God’s will and timing.

Mary had asked for some help in a situation that the people had, yet Jesus did not fulfill it right away. He waited. His waiting was to wait on His Father for the right time. Jesus knew that it was not His time to do a miracle in public yet.

Most people who are asking God for something, want it right away. They cannot understand why God wants them to wait or why they never receive it. This is where trusting in God’s timing is important.

God sees the bigger picture of life. He sees the beginning, middle and end all at the same time. Because He sees this bigger picture, He also knows when it is the best time to do anything.

It is the same with parents of little children. Little children will request something and the parents will say not right now, wait. The parents understand why waiting is best, but the child does not. The child must trust in the parent.

As you request something from God, remember to wait for His answer and trust it. You may have to wait a while for that request to be fulfilled. Know that God has your best interest in mind. It may not be the time for it right now, though as a human being you see it as an immediate need.

In the right time, God will turn your water into wine. Wait on Him and trust Him for your provision.

I pray today that you will seek God for all of your needs; that you will trust in God’s timing in your life; that you will not fear God did not hear you; and that you will do all things on His time-table.

Psalm 90:4 God’s Time Table

A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4

Time has always been a mystery to people. It is something that sometimes feels like it passes quickly, while at other times it appears to move extremely slowly.

When someone is having a good time, such as on a great vacation, the time seems to move extremely fast. A family can go on a week-long vacation to Disney World. As the week comes to an end, many may be complaining that they did not get to do everything that they wanted to do, because the time went so fast.

That same family when back home and having to go to work and school, will then complain about how long the days are. This usually happens when they are doing things that they really do not want to do.

God stands outside of time, because He has always existed and always will. Since this is the case, time passes as though there was no time for God. In God’s eyes, it was just a mere two days ago that Jesus left the earth saying He would return.

Christians will often complain about wondering when Jesus will return. This is especially true during very bad times of persecution on this earth. Or when there is a prayer being asked and there seems to be no answer from God.

You must trust in God at all times. Wait on Him. God understands what time it is and what your needs are. He is waiting for the right time to answer those prayers and needs.

As a human being, you may feel that the time it is needed is right now. You are limited in time. Yet, God knows and understands your every need. He also knows how long you have on this earth. Trust Him.

Do not worry or live in fear that your needs will not be met on time. If God is patient in answering your prayer, you must also be patient. God is not in a hurry, so you must not be in a hurry or worry either.

I pray today that you will not fear God’s timing; that you will wait for God’s answer; that you will trust in God’s timing; and that God will fill you with His patience.
