Psalm 105:4 Finding Strength

Dumbells training

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Psalm 105:4

All across the nation are gyms for men and women work out in. People flock to the gyms in order to build themselves up. They want to strengthen their bodies to be in better health and to look better.

While working out and strengthening the body does a lot of good for a person, it does not help his spirit, nor the long term side of emotions. Exercise does not give a person the strength needed to keep going forward correctly when things are going rough, when trouble hits hard.

During troubling times most people look to many things to give them strength to keep going. They will seek work, friends, drugs, or other distractions to help them survive. Some will end it all in a loss of all hope.

The writer of this psalm says that one needs to look to God’s strength and seek Him.

God is the One who has created everything that there is. He is the One who holds everything that is together. He is the One who controls the storms in the physical world and can control the storms in a person’s life.

Along with having the strength and power to help, God is always there and available. The believer can seek God twenty-four hours a day, three hundred sixty-five days a year, with no fear that God will be busy or not available. There is nothing so big, that God cannot handle it or bring a person through it.

The things that the world looks at for strength are temporary and are not always available as God is available. The things of this world will fail in the end. God will never fail.

During your life, you will  have times of struggle and need strength. Turn your eyes to God and seek Him and His strength to make it.

As you focus on God, you will begin to rest in His arms of strength. You will feel His power surge through your body giving you the ability to keep going forward despite the fight against you.

You will also have His peace and comfort during the difficult time knowing that He is in control and will bring you through to the end of the challenge.

Don’t ever give in or give up to a struggle, but hold on to God. His strength has never failed and never will.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the power and strength God has for you; that you will trust God’s strength in your life; and tha you will seek God in all things.

Psalm 27:8 What To Seek

Hide and seek

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Psalm 27:8

People everywhere are always looking, seeking for something. Sometimes it is something that they had lost, but more often it is something that they do not have and want.

Every day billions of searches are made on Google of people seeking something. People are seeking ways to make more money, ways to be happier, ways to make life easier, ways to make one’s self look better, and many other searches.

It is commonly thought that ‘if I just have…’ or ‘if I just do…’ then one will be happy and life will be so much better. However, all those things that a person can have or do is temporary. There is only One that is eternal and never ending.

David’s own heart told him what he needed to search for. What he needed to search for was God’s face. David, then, chose to seek out God’s face.

Seeking God’s face is finding out who God is. It is finding out what God wants. It is wanting to see His face smiling because one is doing what he is supposed to be doing. It is pleasing God.

Many do not want to seek God’s face, because they fear rejection, condemnation, or a revealing of sin in their lives and hearts. They want to know God, but from a distance because they really do not want to change.

In order to get to know God, one must read His word daily and find out what it says about Him. The Bible reveals God’s character and love.

One must also take time to talk with God on a regular, daily basis. Open his ears to hear what God has to say. And then obey what one has read or heard.

You may be searching for something right now. It may be an object you need, but you may be also searching for something in this life for joy, happiness or peace. While the object will meet a temporary need, the real need is in the eternal.

True joy, happiness and peace comes only from God and knowing God. It is getting close enough to Him that you can see His face and hear His voice all the time.

Focus your time and efforts on seeking God and His face, and then take time to obey what He is showing you. In that you will find contentment and all of your real needs met.

Will you seek His face today?

I pray today that you will seek God’s face; that God will reveal Himself to you in new ways; that you will know God’s heart for you and others; and that you will know and obey what God wants of you.

Psalm 24:5-6 To Receive Blessings And Vindication

Seeking for God

They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek  him, who seek your face, God of Jacob. Psalm 24:5-6

The world does not even attempt to look for God. Instead, the world is constantly trying to disprove God. They do not want anything to do with God and want to do everything on their own.

Most people feel as if they have earned what they have and are proud of it. All the blessings that they have in their life is because of their own personal hard work. As they take this view, they push God out of the picture. Along with pushing God out of the picture, all morality is gone with Him. All that is left is judgement of guilt in the end.

David talks about who can ascend God’s holy hill and what they will get there. Those who live for God will get a blessing and be vindicated–cleared of all guilt.

This was written at a time when the Israelites were under the Law. It was do or die. There was no grace being shown. David was looking forward to the Messiah that would come–Jesus.

In order to receive these blessings and being cleared of guilt, people have to seek God. The world is trying to get the blessings without seeking God. Believers seek for God and what He wants. It is not about self, but about God.

Seeking God is taking time to find out what God wants. How does God want a person to live? What does God want a person to do?

God wants all people to follow Jesus. Jesus provided the truth and way to get to the Father. He provided forgiveness of sins and the Holy Spirit to give power to live for Him. These are the blessings of seeking after God.

As with all people, you have made mistakes in sinning against God. Seeking Jesus will lead you to repent and follow Him. Jesus will clear you of all sin and give you the blessing of getting to the Father.

Seeking the things of this world will fail you. They are temporary and fade away.

Put seeking after God at the top of your priority list as to what to do each day. As you seek Him, all other things that you must do will fall into place correctly.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will seek after God with all of your heart; that you will find God each day; that you will know the blessings of serving God; and that you will know the forgiveness Jesus gives.

Numbers 6:24-26 Blessing Others

“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

After dedicating the Levites and the Kohathites to the work of in the tabernacle, God gave a few simple rules in dealing with each other. Now He gives a blessing that Aaron and his sons were to proclaim over the people. God gave specific ways to bless them.

People like to look at blessings as only material blessings or the removal of any problems. God, however, looks at a real blessing as something different. The best blessing a person can receive is God’s favor and grace on him.

Getting things can be a blessing at the moment, but may become a curse later on. Getting a brand new car can look good, but then the cost of insurance gets you and becomes a curse. Getting a brand new home is great, but then the high cost of property taxes crushes you.

Removal of a problem can appear to be a blessing at the moment, but it removes some growth that God may want in your life.

The real blessings that God is having the priests proclaim over the people is His presence, grace and favor with them. If God is on your side, it does not matter who is against you.

God’s peace is a peace that the world cannot give. It is a peace in spite of all problems.

God’s grace will overcome any shortfalls you have in your life.

When God’s face is shining on you, you will know that He is aware of where you are and what you are going through. He is right there by your side, through everything in your life.

You know that when you trust in Jesus for your salvation, He will keep you. The only way you will lose is if you walk away from Him and reject Him. Until then, you will be saved for all eternity.

As you speak words to other people, speak these words. Give them this blessing that God has given you. This shows God’s love for a person.

Who can you bless today?

I pray today that you will know the blessings you have in Jesus; that God will bless and keep you; that God will shine His face on you; that you will know God’s grace; that you will know God’s peace for you; and that you will bless others as you have been blessed.
