Joshua 10:42 God Will Conquer

All These kings and their lands Joshua conquered in one campaign because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought for Israel. Joshua 10:42

Nations go into battles against other nations on a regular basis. The focus is often on how large one army is over the other and how strategic they can be in order to win the battle.

Very rarely does a smaller nation or a less equipped nation go up against a larger, better equipped nation to battle. If they do, most often they will lose the battle in the end.

Joshua led Israel into many battles against other armies across the land and conquered the land because God fought for Israel.

While most people will never fight in a large-scale nation against nation battle, nearly everyone will have individual battles to fight. In those individual battles, very few will be physical fights, but ones of social and mental battles.

Believers will have even greater battles, because the world and Satan do not want them to win. Those battles will often come from multiple angles at the same time, creating a challenge for the believer.

Fighting a battle with multiple fronts alone is extremely difficult. Very seldom can one win a battle on his own, unless it is one on one.

The strength of the believer to win the battle can be found in God and His word. Throughout the Bible there are verses that tell a believer how to live and win the battle. He also has God’s Holy Spirit dwelling in him, giving him supernatural strength and insight to fight the battles.

Above all of this, God is also fighting for the believer. God sends angels to fight back the enemy. He sends confusion among the enemy to thwart their plans. He blinds the enemy so that they cannot see. God gives victory to the believer.

The moment you chose to believe in and follow Jesus, you became an enemy to the world. Satan and the world are set out to destroy you.

God has you on a path to gain victory over the world and sin. Do not rely upon yourself and your own strength, but upon God and His strength. He will fight for you and give you victory over sin, allowing you to tear down strongholds of darkness and sin in your life and in the lives of those around you, conquering the land for God’s glory.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see God’s hand fighting for you; that you will see the victory God is giving you over sin and the world; and that God will remove all fear at going into battle against the world.

Deuteronomy 3:22 God Will Fight For You

Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you. Deuteronomy 3:22

Battles are occurring on a regular basis nearly everywhere a person goes. Most of the time people do not see those who are fighting behind the scenes to win the fight.

Behind the scenes, there are policemen, the military and attorneys who are helping to fight the enemy to help the citizens. Sometimes their work is directly seen, but most often it is out of public sight of most people. Their job is to gain victory over those who are doing something wrong and are an enemy to the general public.

As Moses was telling Joshua to go over the Jordan River and take the lands, he told him to not be afraid of the enemy, but that God would fight the battles for him.

Every person has at least one enemy and that enemy is Satan. Along with Satan is the world that follows him. Satan is out to steal, kill and destroy every person and everything in the end. He will use whoever and whatever he can to destroy anyone who chooses to believe in Jesus.

Believers not only have the enemy against them personally, but this enemy is against those whom they need to be a witness too pointing them to salvation in Jesus. God desires that every believer to go into the world and be His witness and go into battle against the corrupt systems and ways of this fallen world.

This battle is bigger than any one person, but God goes ahead and helps win the battle. He will fight for the believer and for those who don’t believe to draw them to Himself.

Even though the world is against the believer, he must not be afraid, knowing that God will fight the battle and bring about victory in the end.

You will have troubles, challenges and enemies in your life. The world wants to conquer you and destroy you, pulling you away from Jesus. They also want to destroy those whom God is placing in your path to be a witness to.

Although the battle is great, do not be afraid. Yes, the enemy is greater than you, but not greater than God. God is on your side and will fight the battles for you if you will trust and obey Him with all of your life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will help you not be afraid of the enemy or battles in front of you; that you will trust God’s fighting for you; and that God will give you victory over the enemy in your life and around those you must be a witness to.

Exodus 14:14 Relax, God Will Fight For You

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14

Facing an enemy that is greater in size and strength can be very intimidating for most people. They do not feel that they are able to overcome a larger enemy on their own.

Many will flee the stronger enemy out of fear and not knowing what else to do. Others will attempt to attack the enemy on their own, ignoring their own weaknesses. Some will seek the help of others in order to win the battle. Very few will step back and let someone else fight the enemy for them.

As the Egyptian army was coming to get the Israelites, the people were afraid. Moses told them that God would fight for them and all they needed to do was be still.

Believers are not immune to being attacked by the enemy. In reality, the believer will be attacked more than the unbeliever because Satan is out to steal, kill and destroy.

Not only does the believer have physical attacks against them, as the Israelites did, there are also spiritual and mental attacks from the enemy.

As the enemy is coming in for attack, it is easy for a believer to feel all alone and helpless. Feeing this way allows for fear to creep in and cause one to doubt God and run in fear.

Instead of running in fearing, one must turn to God and trust in His abilities. God can strike the enemy in ways that are impossible for man to do. It may be a physical destruction as with the Egyptians, or it may be a diversion to stop the enemy.

Trusting God’s strength and power allows the believer to relax while walking in His commands and allow God to do what needs to be done.

The enemy will come against you to attempt to destroy you. He may be large and overwhelming, but God is greater. Do not allow the size of the enemy bring fear into your hearts, but allow it to cause you to turn to God for assistance.

God is greater than any enemy that may come against you. Rest in the fact that God cares for you and will come against any enemy rising up against you. Worship God and stand still knowing that the enemy cannot destroy you when God is on your side.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will remove all fear of the enemy; that God will destroy the enemies coming against you; that you will relax in God’s plan for your life; and that you will trust God’s protection over your life.
