1 Timothy 4:1 Are You Abandoning The Faith?

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 1 Timothy 4:1

In this world there are many different things, beliefs, and people to follow. No matter what a person wants to believe in, there is usually some group that also believes in it and one can follow it.

Scam artists are out there that get thousands of people to believe that what they have is good. People buy into something, only later to find out that they were deceived and had their money and time taken.

Paul points out that as time goes along some will abandon the faith. This will be done by following deceiving spirits and false teachings.

Satan and the world does not want a believer or the church to succeed. Both will do whatever it takes to stop the believer.

Most believers are wise enough that if the devil walks up to them to tempt them to do some major sin, they will reject him and walk away. However, the world does not work like that. Instead of directly getting a believer to change, they will use deception.

Twisting words just a little bit, will make sin look as though it is good in the eyes of God. Sadly many in the church have been deceived into thinking that murdering unborn children is really caring and love for the mother, rather than a sin against God. Without being led by the Holy Spirit, many are deceived into following false teachings.

Later many completely abandon the faith in Jesus. They walk away, because they were deceived into following something that appeared to be of God, but was not.

Those who stay in God’s word and are led by the Holy Spirit will not be deceived by the world.

Every day the world will try to deceive you in some way or another to follow something that is not truly of God. In order to recognize the deception being presented, you must know God’s word and be led by the Holy Spirit.

Check everything you hear or read with God’s word and in prayer. Do not allow yourself to be led astray from God’s word and faith in Jesus. Stand solid upon God’s truth that has been proven right over the centuries, rather than the false teachings of this dying world that follows demons.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God’s word teaches; that you will be led by the Holy Spirit; and that God will protect you from the deceptive teaching of this world.

Ephesians 5:6 Don’t Be Deceived

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Ephesians 5:6

One of the most deceptive things are advertisements. Nearly every advertisement tells a person that what is being sold is the very best on the market and that everyone needs it right now, even though there may be better products out there and not every one needs it.

Deception often comes in how things are worded and said. When things are worded a certain way, people will believe it, even when it is false.

After listing some specific sins that a believer should not even think on, Paul tells the people to not be deceived with empty words. It is on those empty words of those disobedient that God brings His wrath upon.

In the same way that advertisements deceive people into thinking that they need something that they don’t, people also deceive others into believing that sinful acts are acceptable to God.

Sexual immorality is just as popular in the church as it is outside the church. Using bad language is common among believers. Along with these, there are many others sins that believers continually commit on a regular basis.

It is not that believers are perfect, but that many of these believers claim these sinful acts are acceptable to God. With deceptive words they claim that they do not need to change, because God still loves them and will save them.

Living in this way is deceptive and is being led by Satan. It is false living and will incur the wrath of God.

Believers are called to live a pure and holy life unto God. As the believer is led by the Holy Spirit, he will not be misled by deceptive lies, empty words of this world and false believers into sinful acts.

The moment you chose to repent and believe in Jesus for your salvation, God had called you to a new way of living. You are to step away from sinful acts to live a righteous life.

All around you the world will continue to try to deceive you into believing that sin is good and acceptable to God. Keep yourself immersed in God’s word and filled with His Holy Spirit. Know what God expects of you and then live that way.

Do not allow yourself to be deceived by the lies of this world and false believers.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know how God expects you to live your life; that you will live a holy and righteous life as Jesus did; that you will not be deceived by false and empty words; and that you will speak God’s words, not empty words.

1 Timothy 4:1 Are You Being Deceived?

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 1 Timothy 4:1

All over the world there are millions of different ways that people choose to live their lives. Many of the ways overlap each other, while some are very different from all others.

Every person believes that their way of living is probably the best way to live. Some will allow others to live as they desire, while others believe every one else should live in the exact same way.

Paul reminds Timothy that God had already made it clear that there is coming a time when some will leave the belief in Jesus and follow deceptive ways of the demons.

All across America and many other nations there has been major pushes by some for everyone else to conform to their way of thinking and acting. The world is living in sin and promotes sin and does not like it when anyone does not agree with them.

There have been many in the church who have completely left their faith in Jesus to live as the world does. Having been deceived, they believe that the world’s way of living is correct.

Along with those there are also many who have continued to believe in Jesus, but also follow the deceptive, sinful ways of the world at the same time. Scriptures are twisted to say what they want to hear or they are completely ignored to allow them to live sinful lives.

The remnant of believers who truly follow Jesus, will be aware of what the demonic world is teaching. They will have their eyes focused on God and His word and will not be deceived by the false teachings being taught.

In doing so, they will stand out as different and be a witness and light to the dark world. Examine your life and determine what you really believe in.

Are the things that you believe in and follow the things of God or of this world? Keep your focus upon God and His word, being led by His Holy Spirit.

Do not fall for the deceptive, sinful ways of this world, but live a holy life unto God. Be able to recognize when someone is trying to teach you a deceptive way of living.

Do not abandon your faith in God, but hold onto your faith.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the truth in God’s word; that you will live according to God’s ways; that God will keep you from being deceived by the world’s ways of thinking; and that you will never abandon your faith in Jesus.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 Refusing The Truth

and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2 Thessalonians 2:10

The news media has all types of stories. The interesting thing is that two different sources of media can report the news with exactly two opposite different views on what occurred. With this being done, one side is most likely telling a lie or attempting to deceive the public.

This is done in order to push a certain agenda or belief, rather than face the truth of the matter.

Paul talks about the coming lawless one who will promote lies. Many will follow because they refuse to love the truth, thus they will not be saved.

Rejection of truth is a very common problem for many people. The truth can often cause embarrassment or shame and lots of temporary pain. Very few people want to face the truth that they are wrong and are being condemned. They love their wicked ways and cannot see that what they are doing is wrong.

Throughout history many people have left a church because they did not want to face the truth that was being preached. The base truth is that every person is a sinner and steeped in sinful ways.

Living as a sinner will cause one to be condemned by God to eternal life in hell. No one wants to believe that God would do such a thing, so they reject the truth and continue to live in sin. Things are seen and believed only in a way that promotes self, not God or others.

Every person who chooses to believe the truth will turn from all sin and choose to live as God desires. Believing the truth that Jesus brought will bring one to a saving knowledge of Him.

Examine your life and see what you are believing is the truth. Be willing to reject the lies that the world is promoting and believe in the truth of Jesus Christ and the gospel message He proclaimed.

Do not allow yourself to be deceived by the sinful ways of this world that cause you to sin and live in sin. Allow the truth of Jesus to change your life, your actions and ways of thinking.

God will give you His Holy Spirit to open your eyes to His truth and the deception of this fallen world.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will accept the truth of God in your life; that you will allow God to reveal the lies of this world; that you will know the salvation Jesus promises; and that you will live according to God’s commands.
