Leviticus 11:43 Do Not Make Yourself Unclean

Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them. Leviticus 11:43

Being clean is something that most people like to be. Although with some jobs people must get dirty, most will strive to clean up as quickly as possible after the job is done.

Those who don’t get cleaned up after getting dirty are often looked down upon as a slob or worse. Yet, despite getting cleaned up and avoiding being dirty, many will continue to play in dirt and think nothing of it.

After listing some animals that the people were to not eat or touch, God told them not to defile themselves with those animals or be made unclean by them.

Although much of the regulations on animals has been done away with when Jesus died and rose again upon the cross, there are many other things that can defile a person and make him unclean. The things that can make a person unclean are not the physical dirt and sweat of this earth, but inner spiritual things that are sin.

Many who would never play in the dirt, will play in sin, telling lies, watching things that should not be seen, gossip, cursing, hating, violent, drunkenness, sexual immorality and more. Doing sin is more filthy and causes more damage than being physically dirty on the outside.

Physical dirt only makes one dirty on the outside and can be easily cleaned off. It does not kill or destroy a person. The spiritual dirt of sin kills a person and is sending him to Hell. It cannot be physically washed away on one’s own, but takes the blood of Jesus to remove.

Believers must do all that they can to not touch or be defiled by any form of sin in their lives.

Most likely you wash yourself physically on a regular basis and strive to not remain physically dirty on the outside. Just as you strive to be physically clean, strive to also be spiritually clean on the inside.

Flee all sin and refuse to touch it or be defiled by it. If you do sin, repent and seek God’s forgiveness and the cleansing by the blood of Jesus upon your life. Jesus died to make you clean and holy, don’t go back to playing in the mud and getting filthy again.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will strengthen you to flee all sin; that you will not be defiled by walking in any sin against God; that you will repent and turn from all sin; and that you will live the holy life that God has for you.

Revelation 4:8 God Is

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stopped saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” Revelation 4:8

As the world has many who do not believe God exists at all, there are also many who have different beliefs in who or what God is. Some believe He is just some big cosmic buddy in the sky, others some cruel dictator, others that He is out there somewhere that cannot be found or known, along with that He is everything or some statue.

In a vision John has, he sees four creatures that are continually worshipping God, saying that He is holy and always was, will be and will be to come.

While the world may have many different views of who God is, there are two main things that God is that the world often misses. God is holy and that He always existed and always will exist.

Even in the church there are many who have a misconstrued sense of who God is. Some just see Him as a ticket out of hell, others see Him just as the one to go to for asking for help in time of need, others see Him as the world does a dictator or just as a buddy in the sky.

Realizing that God is holy is the first thing a believer should know about God. This means that there is no sin in Him at all. This gives encouragement, because it means He will never do anything to harm anyone following Him.

The other thing to realize is that He has always been and always will be. This gives Him experience and knowledge in every area of a person’s life to guide in the perfect way.

As a believer, do you recognize the holiness and purity of God? Knowing this can help you trust His guidance in your life. It also gives you the level you are to aim to be at in your life.

God is always there for your and with you and will be with you in the future. He will never make a mistake with you, nor will He ever leave you.

Worship God for His holiness and presence. Who is God to you today?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see how holy God is; that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will know God is always there and always will be there; and that you will trust God with your life.

Revelation 5:14 Humble Worship

The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshipped. Revelation 5:14

Famous people in many different areas of life are worshipped by many people. They are looked up to as the greatest and cannot appear to do anything wrong or bad.

Those being worshipped are people in music, acting, sports, business, writing, and nearly any other area of public light. They are lifted up by thousands or even millions of people as being the best, and many will pattern their lives after them. And while being worshipped, they will accept the praise and honor.

In his vision of heaven, John sees every creature circling the throne of heaven. All of the creatures and elders fall down and worship Jesus, who is on the throne.

Worship is the act of someone giving someone else praise, honor, glory and power that is above and beyond the simple normal. People love to receive worship, because it lifts them up and makes them feel good. People also love to worship people or things that they can see, feel, taste or touch.

The world likes to worship things or people that do not really have any control over them. They still have their personal freedom to do what they want.

Believers are to have a different mindset. They are to realize that there is only One who is worthy of all worship and praise, and that is Jesus. It is not about them or what they did or can do, but all about Him. It is not about the temporary things of this world, but about Jesus.

This can be humbling to lower one’s self and place Jesus above himself in every area of life. It is laying down one’s life to lift up and worship Jesus as worthy of all honor, glory, power and praise.

You were created to worship. You will worship something or someone. Knowing this you have a choice as to who or what you will worship and honor.

The moment you realize what Jesus has done for you, you will want to humbly bow down and worship Him, giving Him your entire life. Lay your life at His feet ang give Him all authority and power over you.

Jesus created you and paid for the redemption of your life, because of the sins you have done. He has willingly removed your sins, so give Him all the worship and praise due to Him.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know what Jesus has done for you; that you will humbly bow down before Jesus; that you will worship Jesus with your entire life; and that you will give Jesus all authority over your life.
