Deuteronomy 26:11 Are You Rejoicing In Your Blessings?

Then you and the Levites and the foreigners residing among you shall rejoice in all the good things the Lord your God has given you and your household. Deuteronomy 26:11

Everyone has different things in their household. Some have a lot of things, while others not as much. Some will have very high dollar things, while others have things that don’t cost very much.

Being grateful for what one has is not always very common. Many are looking at what others have that they do not have and are complaining and grumbling about what they do not have.

Moses told the Israelites along with the foreigners to rejoice in the good things God had given them.

It is easy for a person to look at the faults of what he has and complain about them. One can also look at what he does not have and feels he needs and complain about the lack.

No matter how much a person has, people tend to want even more. They want the newer, the better or fancier things that they do not have, rather than being grateful with what God has given them.

Believers can fall into this same trap of being ungrateful as the world lives in. Instead of being grateful for what God has blessed them with, many believers are complaining and begging God for more. It is ignoring all the things God has already given and allowing pride, jealousy and greed to set in.

If a person has food, clothing, shelter, forgiveness and salvation, he has all that he needs whether it is just a little or a lot of those things. Anything else acquired is an extra bonus blessing from God. Believers need to rejoice in what God has given, rather than ignoring what they have.

You may have a lot of things or a few things. You may have things you like and there are things you desire to have some day. Do not allow yourself to focus on what you do not have but put your focus on what God has already blessed you with.

As you rejoice in the blessings already given, you will see that you have all that you need and often more than you need. God will always provide what you need, which may be much or little, great or small.

Rejoice in God’s blessings instead of complaining about what the world has.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see what God has blessed you with; that you will rejoice in what God has given you; and that you will be content with the blessings and provision of God in your life.

2 Samuel 22:50 Praise The Lord

Therefore I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name. 2 Samuel 22:50

David is remembering all the things God has done for him. He is remembering how God protected him from his enemies, helped him defeat other nations, and set him free from all of his enemies. Since God had done all those things, David is choosing to praise God everywhere he goes and to continually sing praises to Him.

When a person has something very good happen to them, they want to tell other people about it. They are not quiet about it. when they go to work, they tell of their good story. They also report it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and numerous other social media sites. People want to let others know of what is good in their life.

As a believer, you also have had good things happen to you. God has done great things to and for you. At the very least, Jesus has forgiven you of your sins and given you a new life. You are now at peace with God. God has helped you defeat the enemies of sin and death.

Along with the salvation God has given you, there are other ways God has blessed you. Think about it. You got up this  morning, you can breathe, you can move, you have some type of electronic device in order to see and read this post, and much more

Do not be like most of the world and take all of these things for granted. Realize how much God has blessed you. Once you realize how much God has blessed you, tell everyone you meet. Praise God wherever you go. Let the world know of your love for God. Have a song of praise on your lips at all times.

I pray today that you will know the blessings God has given you; that you will not look only at the trouble in your life; that you will tell others how God has blessed you; and that you will sing praises to God continually.
