Beauty

Ezekiel 28:17 Pride And Corrupted Wisdom
Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before Kings. Ezekiel 28:17
Looking good will often cause pride in the hearts of many people. They will often begin to compare themselves and how they look compared to other people, causing them to look down upon others. This can occur with both physical looks and the looks of his position in society.
Once a person has pride welling up inside of them because of how they look, their wisdom begins to become corrupt. They begin to think that they are all that and more. Their thoughts are that they know what is best and forget the rest.
Ezekiel brings a judgement against Tyre. The nation had been one of great splendor and glory, but had allowed pride to enter them. All the wisdom they had became corrupted and so God chose to knock them down.
The world, not knowing God at all, will often grab onto physical beauty and allow their thinking to be corrupted. They begin to think that they know what is best, when what they are doing is leading to death and destruction. From the outside it appears to be good, but is not.
Believers must also be careful to not allow pride into their lives. Some do a ministry and it grows very well. Suddenly they allow pride in their lives, thinking that they did it all. Once pride sets in, their thinking and allowing God to work begins to become corrupt. It all becomes about self, not God and others.
One must always know that it is God who is in control and must have the control. Things that go great are because God allowed it so. Keeping the fear of God and following His ways will always be the best and uncorrupted wisdom.
God wants to do great things in and through you while you walk on this earth. As things go well for you, do not allow yourself to begin to think that you are the best thing on this earth. Do not allow pride of self and position to corrupt you.
Keep your focus upon God and His ways to guide you in all that you do. This is true wisdom without pride that God is seeking in every person who follows Him.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the wisdom of God’s ways; that you lean on God for everything you have and do; that you will put God first in your life; and that you will allow God to remove all pride in you.
Song Of Solomon 4:1 How He Sees You
How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves. You hair is like a flock of goats descending from the hills of Gilead. Song Of Solomon 4:1
The person who is in love sees the one that is loved as perfect. There does not appear to be any faults in the person. There is no other person for the person who is doing the loving.
Couples who are in love with each other are often described as crazy because they will do anything for each other out of their great love They see the other as of the highest value in their lives.
The man in Solomon’s book shows extreme love for one he loves. He describes her as beautiful and with a value of a whole flock of goats.
With seeing the man as God, it is showing God as loving His bride and thinking she is beautiful and of great value.
God sees His people, those who believe in Jesus, with those same eyes. He sees the believer as extremely beautiful and of extreme value.
Looking at a believer as the world does or even the individual, one only sees a few good things and many faults. Humans do not see another person as God does. He is seeing Christ Jesus and His righteousness in the believer.
God is telling the believer that he is beautiful, a bride without spot or wrinkle. One can be seen this way only because of the forgiveness and righteousness that Jesus has given the believer.
God has the ability to see a person as the end result of what Jesus has done for him, rather than just a person who keeps messing up and failing. This can be done because of His perfect love, grace and mercy.
As a believer you can see all of your faults. You know when and where you have messed up in your past. However, if you have repented of your sins, you are now clean before God. God sees you as beautiful, not sinful and dirty.
Allow yourself to be cleansed of all sin and stand before God in Christ Jesus as holy and righteous. Allow God to change you into the perfect bride who is spotless. Do not allow yourself to go back into the dirt of sin and death.
Do not allow yourself to see yourself as only garbage, but as one who is greatly loved.
I pray today that you will know God’s love for you; that you will know the forgiveness of Jesus; that you will see yourself as God sees you; and that you will live holy as Christ lived.
Esther 2:3 Beauty Treatments
Let the king appoint commissioners in every province of his realm to bring all these beautiful young women into the harem at the citadel of Susa. Let the be placed under the care of Hegai, the king’s eunuch, who is in charge of the women; and let beauty treatments be given to them. Esther 2:3
People like to look good for other people, so they will often get special treatments done to help them improve their looks. On every other corner are hair salons and beauty treatment centers for every one who desires them.
Every year, billions of dollars are spent by people wanting to look better on the outside. They put on an appearance of beauty on the outside, covering up any blemishes or faults.
The king of Persia had decided he did not like the queen any more and wanted a new queen. He began a search throughout the land for a new lady to have as queen. Many women were brought in to allow a choice to be made. Before they could be chosen, each one had to go through a time of beauty treatments to be made ready for the king.
Looking good on the outside is only a temporary fix for a person. It only deals with the here and now, but does nothing for the eternal.
Those who have chosen to believe in and follow Jesus are in the process of going through beauty treatments. They are being cleaned up and made ready for the wedding at the end of time when Christ returns to bring all believers to heaven.
While a person is saved and cleansed of all sin immediately upon belief in Jesus, there is still things to be cleaned up and changed in his life. The thought patterns and actions take a life time to change and clean up. It is the preparation for eternity in heaven.
As a believer, you must also continually go through a cleansing and being prepared for being united with God in heaven. The beauty treatments you are going through are not the temporary external treatments that this world has to offer, but the internal matters of the heart and soul. It is those things that last for eternity.
Allow God to cleanse you and change you into the person He has meant you to be. You must be like Christ and to do that you must be changed. God’s beauty treatments last eternity, not a few weeks. Be prepared to meet God.
I pray today that you will allow God to clean you up; that you will be changed to be more like Jesus; that you will be prepared to meet God; and that God will make you pure and holy as Jesus is.
