Pray for Jordan
Jordan is a nation that once thrived with Christian believers. Since 1980, the number of believers has dropped significantly to a very small minority throughout the nation. Although it has dropped from those numbers, since 1995, it has been slowly but steadily increasing.
Extreme violence of Islamic groups has caused many to open their hearts and minds to the idea that Jesus may be the way. Many Muslims have begun to turn to God for hope and salvation with the loss of true hope in Allah. Those who have chosen to change belief are under extreme persecution and threat of their life. In this nation changing beliefs is not permitted.
Alongside the many Jordanians in the nation, there are nearly a million Iraqi people who fled Iraq during the Gulf Wars. They are unwilling or unable to return to their home country and are seeking true life and help. Some are finding that hope in Jesus when believers are able to connect with them.
Throughout the nation there are also many nomadic Bedouin who do not stay in any one place. Reaching them with the gospel message has been difficult since they are constantly moving about.
Points to pray:
Strength for new believers under persecution
Vision of Jesus for Islamic followers
Hope in Jesus for the people
Open doors to reach the lost
Boldness of believers to be His witness
