Pray for Guyana
Guyana is a nation that has to deal with threats from other nations. The land is very rich with biodiversity that other nations desire to have access to. Venezuela and Suriname claim that parts of the land of Guyana belong to them, thus there are battles on a regular basis. As a result, there are many people who are leaving the country to live somewhere else that is safer.
Despite the population decrease, the church is growing larger. Evangelism is very common among most churches. This is occurring even though many of the churches are divided along racial lines. There are a few churches that are multiracial, but it is not the norm.
While the church is growing, they have to battle against nominalism, witchcraft, Islam, and Hinduism that influences many of the people.
One area the churches are reaching the people is through medical help. There is very limited medical help available in a nation that has high rates of AIDS and other diseases. Outreach to the youth is also climbing with several large organizations meeting this need.
Points to pray:
Peace with other nations
Racial diversity among the churches
Evangelism of those of false beliefs
Open doors for medical help
Discipleship of new leaders
