Pray for People’s Republic of China

For many years China had a one child policy. People were punished and babies were killed if they had more than one child. As a result, there is now a major imbalance of men and women in the nation. In 2015, that policy was changed and women were encouraged to have more children, yet very few have more than one or two children. The consequence has resulted in not enough younger people to care for the elderly. In the same way babies were abandoned and killed, the elderly are now abandoned and killed.

China maintains an atheistic view as a whole, yet Christianity is growing at a very rapid rate. It is believed that now over 100 million people are believers in the nation and still growing. Many churches have to remain underground due to persecution by the government. The churches that are wide open are often following extremely strict governmental guidelines and often weaken the gospel message.

The government tries to control all of thought and communication throughout the nation. Anything that goes against their government is quickly cut down and eliminated.

Drugs are rampant among the younger generations. Disease and sickness hit most people without any medical care being made available. China has the highest rate of suicide of any nation in the world leaving many as orphans or families.

Points to pray:
Strength for believers under persecution
Medical needs being met
Hope beyond drugs
Boldness of believers to be a witness
Gospel message to change lives
