Chad is a landlocked nation that struggles with troubles from inside its own nation and from nations surrounding it. Their former president was assassinated and that president’s son is now in that position. Bandits from inside and outside the nation continually plague the people with troubles.
Poverty is extremely high throughout the land. Less than half of the population has access to water. Acute hunger is widespread. Less than have the people are able to read, causing difficulties in learning.
Even with the corruption in the government, they are trying to preserve religious freedom. The spread of Islam through the land is tearing down their freedom of religion.
Although Christianity is allowed in the nation, there are more unreached people groups in this nation than any other nation on the continent of Africa. Several of the people groups are highly nomadic, making it difficult for missionaries to reach them with the Gospel message. Missionary groups are working hard to reach the lost.
