“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Job 38:4
Throughout the world there are a lot of people, from all walks of life, who think that they are important. They think that the world revolves around them and that everything should work according to their personal desires.
This type of feeling is seen in the home, in the workplace and everywhere else. It is the feeling that mankind is the most important thing on the earth, and some individuals are the king of it all. Everyone is to serve the individual because he ‘deserves’ it.
Job had been questioning why things were going as they were. He thought that God was unjust and making a mistake. His friends were thinking that what was happening was because of sin in Job’s life. For a time, God had been silent, listening and watching what was happening.
Now God speaks up. One of His first questions to Job and His friends was wanting to know where they were when He created the earth. Of course, none of them were there.
When a person realizes who created everything that there is, it suddenly puts him into the right perspective of who he really is and who God really is. It shows the magnificent power and authority of God.
It is easy to see how complex this beautiful earth is. When that is seen, it begins to reveal how great God has to be in order to create this earth. He has understanding and ability far beyond anything man can say, think or do.
As one keeps this in mind, it helps keep the perspective that God is in control of everything. He puts things into place and allows things to occur that people do not always understand, but it is for the best for everyone involved.
You may not understand why you are going through tough times. You may not fully understand why God removes things from your life. You may not understand why God is blessing others, while you seem to be cursed. Yet, you can trust that God knows what He is doing.
Keep in mind that if God can create this complex universe, He is in control of what occurs in your life. Also keep in mind that His great love for you will only allow things to happen that are for your benefit in the end.
Don’t sit on the throne of your life, but allow God to sit there.
I pray today that you will know God’s power; that you will know God’s abilities; that you will trust God’s work in your life; that you will know that God is in control; and that you will allow God to be in control of your life.
