Serbia is a nation that has been through many wars in its past. It has been abused by many other nations surrounding it over the years. As a result, there is very little trust with outside nations.
Although Christianity is allowed in the nation, it often fights against Christianity and Islam. The fight against Christianity is because they feel betrayed by Christianity when they were in wars. The Orthodox Church continues to hold sway over the churches and hold back religious freedom and evangelism.
The Kosovar Albanian population of Serbia is mostly Islamic. Although the majority are nominal in their belief, there are a rising number who are extremists being supported by other extremist nations. Churches are often vandalized or destroyed by these few extremists.
