Mozambique is a nation that has been troubled with sickness and disease. Around 12% of the population is sick with HIV/AIDS, and malaria is even worse. Each year there are nearly 5 million cases of malaria being reported. Along with the sickness, there is extreme drought and destruction with cyclones hitting them.
For many years Mozambique has had religious freedom. Although there is religious freedom, reaching the people with the gospel is very difficult. Nearly half of the nation lives in rural hard to get to areas. And nearly half of the nation is unable to read.
Missionaries have to struggle hard to reach the people, due to the widespread disease and poor infrastructure of the nation.
