Pray for The Gambia

The Gambia is a small, narrow nation on the eastern coast of Africa that is predominantly Muslim. Although it is Muslim, the Christian believers have a lot of freedom, much unlike most other Muslim nations in Africa. Believers are given freedom to worship and be a witness. Although believers have freedom, the majority are not being a witness to their Muslim neighbors.

Due to societal and family pressure, Muslims are not turning towards Christianity. They hold on to their traditions and fear changing. This can also occur due to the high rate of illiteracy throughout the nation. People are unable to read what they believe for themselves or read the Truth.

Several groups have gone into the nation to reach the lost, but are only focused on a few groups near the coast and seldom reach further inland.

Points to pray:
Continued freedom for believers
Boldness of the believers to be a witness
Visions of Jesus for the Muslims
Training to read for all
Leaders to be raised up to lead new believers
