Pray for Fiji
Fiji had been originally colonized by the British empire. This had brought in slavery and indentured labor. Although many of these groups of people brought in have grown as communities, there is still a lot of racial tension between them and the natives. How to live life in a community is seen in different ways causing a lot of social unrest and struggles.
Alcoholism and broken homes are two of the largest difficulties found in homes throughout the islands. With these challenges there have been political problems bringing about several coups over a twenty-year period. Although the church has been a large part of Fiji’s history, they have not openly condemned slavery, nor many of the coups that have occurred.
Many Pentecostal and evangelical churches have recently been planted in the last decade. People are finding a need for Jesus that has not been seen in many years. More churches that are evangelical and reaching out to the people need to be planted.
Points to pray:
Racial tensions to be relieved
Gospel message be spread
Alcoholism to be broken
Homes to be mended
Political peace
Unity among believers
