Asia is a continent that has the two most populated countries in the world. Over half of the world’s population resides in Asia. With that many people, there are many beliefs that are among the people, yet the majority are under Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism. As a result, the majority have never even heard the gospel message spoken.
Having the three major religions there, Christians are a small minority and are severely persecuted for their beliefs. Many who choose to become believers are kicked out by their families, lose their jobs and can be physically harmed. It is unknown as to how many people have been killed for their belief in Christ.
Often missionaries who have tried to go into many of these nations are kicked out. They are not allowed to be a witness and turn people from their nation’s beliefs. The Christian life goes against what many of the nation’s governments are promoting.
Although there is severe persecution, in some nations, the church is growing even though it is still a very small minority. Churches are in need of leaders who can teach the Bible and disciple the people. Bibles are a treasured item that many believers are unable to get their hands on.
Points to pray:
Strength for believers to be a witness
Strength for believers under persecution
Believers to be trained in God’s word and leadership in the church
Stopping of the spread of false religions
Opportunities for missionaries
Provision of Bibles
Believers to be put in leadership in the governments
