So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Exodus 3:4
With today’s technology, people will have phone calls come in and can tell who is calling. Knowing this, people will often ignore the phone call. They refuse to answer. Although they will not answer a phone call, when they are called in person, most people will respond. It is considered right and polite to answer when someone calls you in person directly.
Moses saw a burning bush that was not actually burning up and walked over to it. As he did, God called out his name and Moses answered God that he was there.
Going through life some people do not always want to be seen by others. They like to be left alone. Others can call out to them, but they will ignore the call to be left in secret.
Others do not want to be seen because they know that they are doing something wrong and don’t want to be caught. They will refuse the call to stay in the dark.
God is calling out to people all the time. It begins with His great desire to have a relationship with each and every person. His calling begins with salvation, but it does not end there.
Once a person becomes a believer God will call that person to do a work for Him. Many will choose to ignore that call. They don’t want to do the job God has for them to do. They want to stay right where they are and not move.
Believers need to answer the call of God. Tell God that they are there and ready to hear what He has to say and do what He calls them to do.
You get phone calls that you are able to ignore for various reasons. It may be acceptable to ignore those calls. However, God may be calling your name to ask something of you. When God calls your name, do not ignore that call. Answer God and see what He has to say to you. Be willing to act upon what God tells you. It may be that God is calling you to lead many to Him in a new and great way and you won’t know unless you answer the call.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear God’s voice calling you; that you will answer God when He calls you; that you will obey God in what He tells you; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.
