And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. Genesis 45:7
Traveling down a road, people will normally take the easiest route to get to their destination. Very few like to take a route that is filled with trouble and hardship. It wears the vehicle down and takes much longer than desired. Easier and faster is what is desired, yet many have to take the more difficult road. Sometimes that more difficult road has better scenery or things not often seen or experienced.
Joseph finally reveals himself to his brothers and they were afraid of him. He told them that it was God who sent him there ahead of them to preserve them and save them.
Going through very difficult times is never the first choice of most people. People will do all that they can do in order to avoid all trouble in their lives. When trouble does arise in their lives many will get depressed and want to give up. They cannot understand why everything is going wrong when they are doing everything right.
Trouble in the life of a person gives one strength that was never there before. It gives understanding and wisdom that is needed for future use.
God uses trouble and difficulties to build up His children and for the greater good of the individual and everyone as a whole. Just as Joseph had to go through great trouble to become second in Egypt in order to save many, Jesus had to go through great trouble to provide forgiveness and salvation to all who will accept Him.
Believers who trust in God will have to go through some trouble, but in the end, God will use them to save the lives of others and build His kingdom.
Throughout your life God has allowed some trouble to arise in your life. That trouble has been used by God to build you and to move you to where He can use you in the best way possible. Do not look at trouble as totally horrible, but allow God to use it and use you. As you put your trust in God during hard times, God will be able to do great things in your life. You may be the one He uses to save a nation as He did with Joseph.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will trust God in times of trouble; that God will use you to do great things; that God’s presence will be with you in hard times; and that God will redeem all the times of trouble in your life.
