Revelation 12:17 There Is A War

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17

War is something that most people want to avoid. It brings on destruction, pain and suffering. It is costly in material things and lives be killed. Many ponder at the purpose of war and are confused as to why there is one going on, not always seeing the bigger picture that is hidden behind the scenes.

John describes a picture of a war going on in which a dragon (Satan) is angry at a woman (the church) and makes war with her offspring, those who believe in Jesus and obey God’s commands.

Enemies do not want the opponents to win in any battle, whether it is a friendly game or war. Stopping the opponent becomes a priority and focus in order to win. Sometimes there are rules put in place to guide the battle, but often the rules are ignored in a harsh war.

Although there are many physical wars going on around the world, there are many more non-physical wars going on that many do not even recognize. Satan does not want anyone to believe in Jesus and be saved. As long as one does not believe in Jesus, he leaves that person alone. The moment one begins to believe in Jesus there is a war.

Satan and the world are out to steal, kill and destroy anyone who chooses to believe in Jesus and obey God’s word. Those who go to church, but do not obey God are left alone by Satan. They are doing what he desires.

Believers who obey God must be armed and ready for war. Satan will attack in any way possible. This battle will occur until one is called home or Jesus returns.

Satan is out to destroy you in whatever method he can if you are choosing to believe in Jesus and obey God. Do not be surprised or depressed when things go against you and attempt to destroy you. If he is not attacking, check your faith and obedience.

Hold on to your faith in Jesus and do not give up in the midst of war. God is by your side and will give you victory as long as you continue to put your trust in Him and obey Him.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as Lord and Savior; that God will give you strength in the midst of the battle for your soul; that you will remain strong and true to God; that you will obey God’s commands; that you will have a testimony of Jesus saving you; and that God will give you victory in the war.
