But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have a good remembrance of us, greatly desiring to see us, as we also to see you–1 Thessalonians 3:6
Hearing good news about a friend or loved one is always the desire of every person. Often there is news of sickness or death, not news of joy. Listening or watching the news usually carries only negative things occurring, so when good news comes it is a relief and a joy.
Paul told the Thessalonians that Timothy had brought good news about their faith, love and remembrance of them desiring to see him.
No matter who a person is there is always someone else who is talking about that person. People love to talk about other people. What is talked about is most commonly about the negative aspects of a person. People love to point out the faults of a person rather than what is good in the person.
Love for people creates a desire to hear something good in other people. When a person truly loves other people, the only news that will come concerning that person is about the love that is being shown. The same will go for their faith when it is a major part of their life.
The talk that people will say about a person will be reflective of who that person really is. People will see who the person really is and talk about it. Their words and actions will be revealed and spread to others, whether they are good or bad, positive or negative.
True faith in God and love for others will spread fast, because in this world those are uncommon traits for people to possess.
No matter who you are or where you live, people will talk about you. They will talk about what they know about you. The question is what they will have to say about you. As a believer, your life should be filled with faith in God and love for others so much so that no one can help but see it. Be willing to share your faith with everyone you meet. Show true love to everyone around you. Those good traits are uncommon in this world, and everyone will talk about them.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that everyone will see your faith in God; that people will see your love for others; that people will talk about your faith and love that God has filled your life with; and that you will be His witness for all the world to see.
