Colossians 4:17 See To Your Ministry

And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.” Colossians 4:17

Every job a person may have will always have some requirements that need to be fulfilled. Some jobs are extremely detailed, while others are more simplistic. It is important for each worker to do what is expected and needed so that the business will be successful, and the required task completed without complications. When steps are ignored or not completed correctly, there will be many troubles, if not complete failure.

As Paul finishes his letter out to the Colossians, he asks them to tell Archippus to be careful about the ministry God had given him to be sure to fulfill that job.

In order for a company to function properly every person needs to do what is required. They have to work as a team that is focused on the big picture. Overall, most companies have teams that work very well together and make the business successful.

Occasionally there are a few workers that slack on the job. They try to cut corners or show up late or just don’t do the job. Many businesses have failed due to workers not being willing to do what is needed or required.

Churches have the same challenges as businesses do. Every believer has a work to do in God’s kingdom. Some of those jobs may be in titled and recognized positions, while many are behind the scenes.

Every believer has a work to do to spread God’s message to the world and to build other believers up. Instead of doing the ministry one is called to do, many people just go to church and warm the bench.

Believers are to make sure that they are doing what God has called them to do, regardless of the position. God’s kingdom needs every believer to do the work at building His kingdom.

In your household there are some things that you must do in order to maintain the house correctly. Various chores are required to keep everything in order. God has a work for you to do. It is a ministry that only you can do because of who God made you and where He placed you. Make sure that you are seeing to the ministry God has called you to do. Do not let God or His kingdom down by ignoring your ministry or only half-heartedly doing it.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the ministry God has called you to do each day; that God will give you strength and wisdom to do that ministry; and that God will use you to build His church and kingdom.
