Ephesians 4:1 Walk Worthy Of Your Calling

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, Ephesians 4:1

Throughout the business world each business has some standards that are set for their employees. Each employee is given standards of operations procedures that are expected to be met. These standards go over how they will conduct their business, what attire should be worn and how they will act and react to various situations. Employees that do not meet the business standards are often let go and replaced by those who will do what is expected and required.

Immediately after telling the Ephesian believers that God has given all the power needed, he encourages them to live their lives in way that is worthy of the calling to which God had called each one to live.

People believe that they can live however they want with very little to no regard for others. Everyone else must conform to and accept their standards of living. As a result, no one can be trusted because the standards of living change from moment to moment. There is no foundation in which people are living their lives. Value for life and moral standards are removed.

Inside the church many people choose to become believers for the sake of being saved, not to be changed and made into a new creation. They ignore the standard of living that they are called to live and walk in the ways of the world, not to the way in which God called them to live.

Living as a believer should be one who is forgiving, loving, caring, truthful, firm, gentle, humble and many other Godly characteristics. God has the authority to have them live this way because it was Jesus who paid the price for their lives to be made into a new creation.

God has called you to walk a life of holiness and righteousness that looks just like that of Jesus. With the example found in Jesus and the infilling of the Holy Spirit, God has given you the ability to walk the path He has called you to walk in this life. Make the choice to be worthy of the calling God has placed on your life, whether it is working a regular job, being in ministry or working at home, do it all as unto the Lord and with honor and integrity.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know how God has called you to walk in this life; that you will be found worthy in your walk with God; and that your walk will mirror that of Jesus in every area of your life.
