Galatians 2:13 False Acting

And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. Galatians 2:13

Movies and television shows are filled with actors and actresses that are acting like someone that they really are not. As people watch, they know that the actors are not being true to themselves and accept it. Outside of the movies, many people in this world are also acting like someone that they are not. They change their words, actions and character depending upon who they are around and their goals.

Paul talks about some Jews and Barnabas being willing to act a certain way around the Jews, rather than being true to their beliefs. He calls them hypocrites for the way they are acting.

Outside of movies, people do not like anyone else acting like someone they are not. Everyone wants everyone else to be true and honest at all times. If someone is not being true, most will leave the person.

Although people want others to be true, many are not true to themselves. They change everything about themselves depending upon who they are around. Words and actions can quickly change just so a person can fit in and be accepted.

Acting is this way is something that can be easy for believers to do. While they are in church, it is easy to speak and act like a Christian should, but when around non-believers, many will act just like the non-believer to fit in.

Believers are to live their life like Jesus, who they are created to be like. Instead of being actors and being a hypocrite they are to be true followers of Christ, speaking and acting as He would, whether around believers or non-believers.

Temptation to blend in with others will always be the easy road for you to take. Blending in will cause you to be a hypocrite, acting like someone or something you are not. Do not allow yourself to be false to who you are supposed to be in Christ Jesus. Live your life as Jesus lived His no matter who you are around. Do not change to fit in with this world, but be transformed and changed to be like Christ. Be the light in this world that God has made you to be. Act as Jesus has made you to be, not who the world wants you to be.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will open your eyes to ways you are living falsely before others; that you will speak and act like Jesus no matter where you are; and that you will be true to who God made you to be.
