Wars are occurring all over the world. Some are just small and contained in small area, while others are larger and include several nations. As these wars are occurring, people are wanting peace and not always finding it. Eventually peace does come to these nations, but sometimes it can take a long time before the two or more sides come together to an agreement to no longer fight. Sometimes it happens when one side is completely removed.
Paul finishes out his letter to the Romans in telling the people that Satan will be crushed under their feet soon by the God of peace. He also prays that the grace of Jesus will be with them.
No one likes to hear that God is a God of war. All they want to hear about is His love and peace. The world is very quick to come against believers who stand up in a battle. Though the war being fought by believers is not a physical war, it is still a war.
Satan is out to steal, kill and destroy all he can, with any method possible. He leads people into sin so that they are destroyed and can lead others into sin to destroy them also.
Looking out in the world today, it appears that Satan is in control and is winning the battle. Sin is everywhere and sinful acts appear to be the desire of everyone. There is a battle for the soul of each and every person.
Jesus overcame the death Satan is trying to bring. Rather than losing hope, believers can know that soon Satan will be crushed by Jesus. His blood will overcome the spiritual battle to bring victory in the end. God will give grace and strength to the believer until that point.
Having to see and deal with all the sin in this world and in your life can be very wearying. It can be discouraging for you to see how sin is being promoted. Remember that you are in a war for the souls of every person. Do not give up the war. Soon Jesus will crush Satan and wipe all sin out for all eternity. Put your hope and trust in Jesus, not yourself or this world. He will win the battle in His time and way soon.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the peace God has for you; that you will have hope in Jesus ending this war soon; and that God’s grace will be with you at all times.
