Why should it be thought incredible by you that God raises the dead? Acts 26:8
Not knowing everything or having experienced everything; people will often see things that they feel are extremely incredible. Seeing something new can been seen as incredible, when it is actually something very normal. People will stand amazed at what can be done by someone who has the right ability and willingness to make something happen. Most people go through life and never do anything that really stands out as amazing or incredible, just normal day-to-day life.
Luke records in Acts that Paul was being tried for his belief in Jesus and had to stand before King Agrippa. He gives testimony about Jesus. Paul asks King Agrippa why he would think it is incredible that God is able to raise the dead.
The world struggles with trying to believe that Jesus was raised from the dead. All that they see is that a person died and once dead, can never live again. It is over. People see or hear of other people dying all the time and never hear or see a person that has died rise from the dead again.
For the average person, it just blows the mind and is too incredible to believe. It is also a failure to believe in who God really is and what He is capable of doing.
A person must begin with defining who God is. One has to recognize that God is the Creator of all this world and everything one sees. Upon realizing that God is the Creator of this world, that He created everything out of nothing, then believing that God can raise the dead is easy to believe.
As one believes that Jesus was raised from the dead, it gives one hope in a future, even after death. It gives purpose for this life and is not so incredible.
There are things that amaze you when you see them. You wonder how someone could do what you saw. Sometimes it almost feels like an impossibility because the task done was so great. You may often wonder what God can do in your life with situations that arise. Remember that same God that created the heavens and the earth also raised Jesus from the dead. If He can do all that, He is able to do whatever is necessary in your life to take care of you.
Believe He can raise the dead.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will believe God can do what appears to be impossible miracles; that God will open your eyes to seeing the miracles He has done in your life; and that you will not question God’s abilities.
