Acts 14:2 Poisoning The Mind

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren. Acts 15:2

Changing a person’s mindset is the goal of all businesses. They want a person to stop buying a competitor’s product and purchase their own product. They also want people to think that their product is the best on the market. This is most commonly done through advertising the product on a mass scale. Occasionally there are some businesses that try to poison the minds of people with false statements about the competitor’s products or services.

Luke records in Acts that there were some Jews, who did not believe in Jesus, that worked at poisoning the minds of the Gentiles against the followers of Jesus.

Everywhere one goes there are some people who have chosen to no longer believe in Jesus. They have allowed the world to deconstruct their belief and get them to walk away from God following a deception rather than the truth.

Once they have walked away, many will raise up other non-believers against the believers with their deceptive lies. Minds are poisoned by the lies and misused scripture verses to make Christianity look bad. This can be seen in the lies that believers are being hateful when they speak out against sinful practices that are being promoted by the world.

Believers can expect this type of action to be done against them when they boldly speak God’s word.

In order to combat against the poisoned minds, one must know God’s word and be able to apply it correctly to life. Daily immersing oneself in His word and memorizing scripture will give one strength to combat against the lies and to also not be deceived by the world.

God’s word is the only antidote against the poison of lies and deception.

The stronger you stand up for God, the more the world will take a stand against you. There may be some in your life who have walked away from God that will try to pull you away also. Lies will be spread about believers and maybe even directly against you, poisoning the minds of others against you.

Dive into God’s word, study it and memorize it. Stand upon His word to know the truth and trust that God is with you, not against. Do not allow your mind to be poisoned with the lies of those who refuse to believe in Jesus.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s truth for your life; that God will protect you from the lies of the enemy; that your mind will be focused upon God and His word; and that you will boldly speak God’s word in this world.
