And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region. Acts 13:49
With the amount of social media and internet available, amazing news can spread very rapidly. Some big event occurs, and people will instantly talk about it with everyone. Posts will be placed on news sites and every social media platform. Businesses will plaster the internet with ads to get out the information of a new product being made. The word can be spread around the entire globe within minutes for all to hear about.
Luke records in Acts that Paul and Barnabas were continuing to preach the gospel message and that the word of God was being spread all over the area.
The world understands the need to get information out on a new product or some other information that is seen to be needed. Warnings of natural disasters possibly occurring, major political decisions made, and many other bits of information are pushed out for all to hear. The desire is that everyone can know about it.
One piece of information that the world tries to hold back is information on salvation through Jesus. The world does not like to hear that Jesus is the only way to heaven or that they must give up sin.
As Jesus left the earth, He left instructions that His followers must continue to spread His message of salvation. Believers need to be bold and tell others about Jesus, even in the face of persecution and hatred. When Life–Jesus–is preached, people will hear and hearts will be changed.
As strong as the world is, the world will never be able to completely stop the gospel message from spreading when believers are bold and outspoken about the truth.
There is a lot of information that the world is throwing at you from many different directions each day. Most of that information is worthless information in light of eternity, in fact, much of it will set you on a path to death. You have information that the world needs to hear–the gospel truth about Jesus. Regardless of what the world says or does, you must be willing to speak out about Jesus. As people hear the truth, their lives will be changed, and the word of God will spread throughout your area and across the world.
Are you spreading the word of God for all to hear?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will give you boldness to speak His truth; that many will come to Jesus through your message; and that God’s word will spread throughout your area and nation.
