Luke 12:7 You Are Of Extreme Value

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:7

Having more and more things or having a higher-level position is where people often feel that they will have increased value. Without the things or positions, people feel that they have nothing to offer and are of no value. Depression and suicidal thoughts weigh heavy on their minds because they feel that there is no worth in their life. Fear of having no purpose or value pulls many down into deep levels of fear.

Luke records Jesus telling the people that since all the hairs on their head are numbered, they should not fear because they are more valuable than the many sparrows that God takes care of.

The world is focused on self, what self has and what self can provide. When one does not have much or cannot provide much, the individual has very little to no value.

Those of no little to no value are quick to be disposed of. Children are aborted, the mentally unstable are locked away and the poor are shunned because they have nothing of great value to offer.

All one needs to do is take a look at how complex the body is to see how valuable one really is. People cut their hair and never take time to count the hairs on their head, yet God knows the exact number of hairs on each person’s head. He also designed the intricate workings of the body. Ultimately God sent His Son to die on the cross for each and every individual.

Every person is of extreme value to God. Knowing this, one does not need to fear. God will take care of the believer because of one’s great value.

In the eyes of the world, you may not have much to offer. You may not have a big bank account or some high-level position. As a result, you may fear that you are of no value. Do not allow yourself to be afraid. God has you on His mind and knows the tiniest, mundane details about your life and still cares about you. He will take care of you just as He takes care of the little sparrows, which have very little value.

God can and will use you in His kingdom. You have more value than those sparrows.
