And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Matthew 9:28
Hearing about something amazing is an easy thing to do for a person. Believing that something amazing, out of the ordinary can happen is much different. People are often stuck in what makes sense as to what is possible. Anything out of the ordinary tends to be seen as impossible and not expected in any way.
Matthew records that some blind men had come up to Jesus asking for some mercy. Jesus asked them if they believed He could do it and they said they believed.
Going to doctors, people put their trust in them to bring about a healing of whatever ailment is occurring at the time. People believe that doctors and medicine can cure their sickness or injury with very little doubt.
While people are quick to believe doctors, many doubt that God is able to heal them or that He will heal them. It is common for people to think that God can heal the other person, but not self.
God had made the heavens, the earth and everything in them. He had done all of that out of nothing but His word. Since He was able to do that, God is able to heal or take care of any difficult situation in one’s life. God is ready to do great and wonderful miracles in the life of those who believe.
Believers need to take a look at all the things God has already done and believe that He can continue to do great things. Rather than doubting, all one has to do is believe that He can do it.
There will be times in your life in which you are sick or something else will be going on in which you need God to step in and help. Instead of quickly running to the doctor or someone else, first run to God. Believe that God is able to do what appears to be impossible. If God can make you, He is able to also heal you. Put your full trust in God’s abilities and believe His word in which He promises to bring healing.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as Lord and Savior; that you will believe that God can do the impossible in your life; that you will seek God’s help first in every situation; and that you will see God do great miracles in your life.
