These are the things you shall do: Speak each man the truth to his neighbor; give judgement in your gates for truth, justice, and peace; Zechariah 8:16
Talking is something that occurs all the time every day. It can occur in person, physically talking, but can also occur online with chats, posts, over the phone, in writing and other ways. Most people love to make their opinion known to others, especially about what they think or feel about what is going on in their lives or in the world around them.
Zechariah records God telling the people some things that they should do. They are to speak truth to each other and give judgement for truth, justice and peace.
The world loves to say that they want truth to be spoken. However, the world has changed what truth really means. It has come to mean what the individual person feels is truth. Many will say that a person’s gender is based upon how one feels, not the physical attributes, or they will say redefine what is murder and what is not, and what is legal and what is not based upon their feelings.
There is no longer a standard to judge truth by as the world is led by Satan, the father of lies and death.
Believers are expected to go along with the ‘truth’ that the world holds onto. Yet believers are told by God to speak truth, His truth. Instead of going along with the lies and deception of Satan, believers are to speak truth at all times.
Jesus said that He is Truth. God’s word is true and gives the guidelines in which every believer must be willing to speak with boldness and confidence. Unless, the world hears the truth, they will never come to the Lord and be saved.
Turn on the news from different sources and you will see all types of different ‘truths’ out there. The world is trying to tell you what is truth according to the individual, not by any solid foundation. As a believer, you need to be a witness of God’s eternal truth. It will never change as the lies and deceptions of the world do on a regular basis.
Do not be afraid to speak His truth everywhere you go. God will guide you in speaking His truth that the world needs to hear each and every day.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will reveal His eternal truth to you; that God will lead you in speaking His truth; and that God will touch hearts through you with His truth.
