Nahum 2:13 Will God Have To Be Against You?

“Behold, I am against you,” says the Lord of hosts, “I will burn your chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions; I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall be heard no more.” Micah 2:13

The majority of people like it when everyone likes them and is not against them. Having someone against oneself is very difficult. It often turns into a battle against each other. Friendship and unity are lost. When the one against is a higher level authority, it can even mean one is in trouble.

Micah records God speaking against Ninevah that He is against the and will destroy their chariots and young, cutting them off from the earth, never to be heard anymore.

No one likes to be judged, especially if the judgement is against them. People desire to be liked and accepted by everyone else. Regulations are often put in place to force people to be accepted by others, especially when they are classified as different or out of the normal realm of people.

The world and many in the church will try to say that God will accept everyone, no matter how they live. One can be steeped in sin, rejecting God, and yet many will say that God is for that person. Yes, God still loves that person and wants that person to be saved, but God is against that person who rejects Him and lives in sin.

God is calling all people to believe in Jesus. Some hear that call and reject it. In the end God will cast that person out into eternal darkness. That end will occur when the person dies.

Everyone needs to repent of all sin and believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and that He will take away their sins and give them life. This takes away God being against them.

God loves you and cares about you as long as you have breath. He wants to give you life that will extend into all eternity. Do not live in rebellion against God and His commands, but believe in Jesus and obey God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength. Accept the life that God has for you and do not reject Him. Do not give God a reason to be against you and cast you out on the day you die and stand before the judgement seat of Christ.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will choose to repent of all sins and obey God; that you will know God loves and cares for you; and that you will not give God a reason to be against you.
