Tell your children about it, let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. Joel 1:3
All over the world there are things that are occurring all the time. Some of those things are good and other things are horribly bad. News of what is occurring fills the tv channels and internet sites. People talk about what is happening on whether it is good or bad, right or wrong. As people are constantly talking about these things, there are very few that are seeing or talking about what God is doing or going to do.
Joel opens his book with a word from God to tell the children about what is happening and their children to pass it on and on through all generations.
There have been some events that have occurred in a nation that people talk about and often pass it on down through the generations. Often these events are things that have caused great change in a nation. Wars, riots, historical judgements, victories and more are talked about and passed down in history books.
Believers will often talk about the very same things as the world and often stop at that point. Many are missing what God is doing in their nation, both victoriously and as a judgement. All they see is what is immediately in their own lives and what is broadcast by the world.
God works in every nation in both judgement or correction and in blessings. When a nation, as a whole, serves Him, there are blessings. When a nation, as a whole, rejects Him, there are corrections made trying to get the people’s attention back to Him.
Believers need to be talking about what God is doing and all of it, not just the good and happy things. It is in the bad times that God is calling out to people to turn back to Him. All the world needs to hear about Jesus.
Regardless of where you live, there is lots of news and events occurring all the time. Allow God to open your eyes to see what He is doing. Some of those things may be to turn hearts back to Him, while other things may be blessings for obeying Him.
Now be willing to tell everyone what God is doing. Pass it on from generation to generation. Do not allow God to be forgotten. Do it before the judgement of God destroys all.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will have open eyes to see what God is doing; that your heart will follow and obey God; that you will tell others what God has done and is doing and will do; and that by your testimony many will turn to God and follow Jesus.
