Daniel 10:1 The Timing May Be Long

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, but the appointed time was long; and he understood the message, and had understanding of the vision. Daniel 10:1

Messages are sent to people all the time. Sometimes those messages are for immediate consideration, while at other times they are meant for something in the future. Usually, the future of human messages is for a very short time. People do not like to have a long way off message with no real date on when it is supposed to be.

Daniel was given a message in a vision that was true, and he understood it clearly, but it was for a long time off.

Hearing a message about something that is going to happen, people want it to happen quickly. People are usually impatient and do not want to wait. This becomes especially true when the message is about something good.

Sometimes, however, people have to wait for the event to occur, and that is something most people do not want to do. Good things cannot happen fast enough, people want it right now.

God has given people messages of something good to occur but does not always give the exact timing of it. They hear that they are going to be healed, but God did not say when. Often people have to wait for His timing. He knows when it is best for the healing, or whatever else He said was going to occur, to actually occur.

Instead of being impatient, or getting angry with God, the believer needs to trust in His timing. One must understand the message and then wait for God to act as Daniel had to wait. It may be a short wait, or it may be long, but trusting God is important.

Throughout your life there have been times you have had to wait for something to happen. You have probably prayed about something many times and are still waiting for God to bring about the answer. God has made many promises, and you must be willing to trust His word and wait for His timing to fulfill those promises to you.

Do not lose hope and give up on God but hold on to His promises or specific message to you. In the right time, God will come through and fulfill His promise to you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear what God is saying to you; that you will trust God’s word to you; and that you will wait patiently for God to fulfill His word to you.
