Ezekiel 46:9 Leave A Different Way

But when the people of the land come before the Lord on the appointed feast days, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate; and whoever enters by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate. He shall not return by way of the gate through which he came, but shall go out through the opposite gate. Ezekiel 46:9

Larger businesses will often have one set of doors for entering and another for leaving. This helps control the flow of traffic and what is brought in or out.

Ezekiel records God giving instructions for entering and leaving the temple courtyard. Whichever gate one enters, north or south, one must leave by the opposite gate.

Unless the venue is an outside location, most places do not contain gates, but will have doorways. There is usually an enter doorway and an exit doorway for larger places. Although businesses may include these types of doorways, most churches do not have them. Most every door a church has can be used for entering and exiting.

Unlike in ancient biblical times, believers today can enter into worship with God wherever they are. There is no longer a physical gateway or doorway for them to have to walk through.

Though there is no physical gateway, there is a spiritual one. The believer must step out of the world’s ways of thinking and acting and step into God’s ways in order to worship Him. Putting off the things of the world allows the believer to worship in spirit and truth.

Once the believer has taken time to worship God, one must leave that spot of worship by a different route. Instead of going back into the world’s ways of thinking and acting, one goes back in the Spirit of the Lord of holiness and righteousness, a new creation.

Every day you have the opportunity to enter into worship with God. This can be while walking or driving or just sitting at home. As you enter into that time of worship, you are leaving behind you the cares and ways of this world.

As you exit the time of worship, do not go back into those cares and ways, leave them with God. Walk in the path that He has for you of holiness and righteousness. Exit the time of worship as a different person, more like Jesus and less like the world.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will enter into worship of God daily; that you will walk in the path God has for you; and that God will strengthen you to not go back to the ways of the world after worship.
