Ezekiel 21:26 Be Exalted Or Humbled

Thus says the Lord God: “Remove the turban, and take off the crown; nothing shall remain the same. Exalt the humble, and humble the exalted.” Ezekiel 21:26

The world loves to be exalted. Awards and prizes are sought after. People focus their whole lives on getting certain awards, giving everything that they have. Many will give up their personal standards to gain the crown so that they will look good and be considered the best. Stepping on others and cutting others down is acceptable to gain the coveted prize in being the best. It is all about self-glorification.

Ezekiel records God saying to the city of Babylon that they are to remove the turban and crown, because all will change. Then He says to exalt the humble and humble the exalted.

Humility is something that people do not take on by their own choosing. Exalting self has been the desire of people ever since Adam and Eve desired to know all that God knows without His help in the Garden of Eden.

The problem with exalting self is that it is putting self on the throne where God belongs. It is a process of rejecting who God is and what God has for oneself. This can easily happen inside the church when one thinks they are everything in some ministry.

While the world thinks that they are winning when they receive the crown or award, God is watching and waiting to move. There will come a day when everything will be turned upside down.

God will look at the lives and hearts of people and act accordingly. Those who are exalted in this earth will be humbled by God’s mighty hand of judgement. Those who have humbled themselves before God will be exalted high and above the world.

Each person must choose whether they will be exalted by the world or by God, whether they are humble or not.

There will be times the world will tempt you to push above all others and step on others to be the best at what you do. Jesus humbled Himself and came down to this earth to die on the cross for you. God expects you to humble yourself before Him.

Allow Him to be on the throne of your life and exalt you in His way and time. If you put yourself on the throne, God will humble and crush you in the end.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will allow yourself to be humble before God; that God will reveal any self-exaltation you have in your life; and that you will see God exalt you in His time and way.
