They have blown the trumpet and made everyone ready, but no one goes to battle; for My wrath is on all their multitude. Ezekiel 7:14
Soldiers in armies around the world train on a daily basis to be ready for battle. Their focus is to be ready for battle and to win a war if and when needed. As soon as the battle cry is sounded, the soldiers quickly go to battle without question or hesitation, it is what they are trained to do. Rejecting going to battle is considered dereliction of duty and brings on punishment.
Ezekiel quotes God saying that the trumpet has been blown everyone was made ready, but no one went to battle, so His wrath came upon them all.
Various types of battles and wars are going on in various places all over the world. The ones most seen and heard about are the physical battles between nations or large groups of people. These are heard of because there is often a loss of life and large destruction of buildings and land.
While these are most seen, there are more unseen battles occurring in every nation, city, town and village, while including secluded places in the wilderness. These battles are spiritual battles that are destroying lives, hearts and families. These are battles for the soul.
Believers are trained for these battles. They are given the Holy Spirit to go out and wage war against sin in their own lives and in the lives of others. They are to be a witness of who Jesus is and what He has done, offering forgiveness and life to all. Jesus sounded the battle cry as He left the earth 2,000 years ago.
Yet, many believers are not going to battle. They are accepting sin in their own lives and not telling others about Jesus. Instead of staying home, believers need to go to battle.
No matter where you live there is a battle against Satan and sin going on all around you and even in your own life. God has called you to be a soldier in His army, to go out and fight for the lives of others. You are given all the weapons and armor needed to fight the battle. You are also given all authority to win the battle. Do not reject going to battle but take up your armor and fight the good fight.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear the battle cry of the Lord; that God will show you the battle you must fight against sin; that God will give you boldness to go to battle; and that God will give you victory against the enemy.
