Lamentations 3:26 Hope And Wait Quietly For God

It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:26

Going through trouble or hardship is very difficult for anyone. There are times in which there may seem to be no hope left of anything ever getting better. No matter where a person turns, things only appear to be worse. The world often feels this way. As a result, people tend to turn to drugs, sex, entertainment or suicide in an attempt to stop the pain and suffering going on in their lives.

During the time of captivity and extreme suffering, Jeremiah writes that it is good to hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

At the time Jeremiah had written this, Jerusalem had been leveled to the ground, walls torn down and the people placed in captivity. There did not appear to be any hope of survival or recovery.

Although most people are not in an area of physical war, nearly everyone has a war going on inside their lives. Rejection, hate, violence, illness, hunger and more are a few of the things many face every day. All these things appear to be rising daily around the world, dropping the level of hope people had.

Instead of fretting and worrying, or turning to things that cannot help, one needs to turn to God for hope. From the beginning when God had cast Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden, He has promised salvation to those who trust and follow Him. He promised Jesus to come, and He did. Jesus promised to come again, and He will.

Believers need to not fret and worry or complain about the battle going on, but must hope and wait quietly for God to bring about His salvation. One must keep doing His work as being a witness during the trouble and see God do a mighty work and save in the end.

Battles of all types are occurring around you each and every day. Some of those battles are in your own life. It may appear to you that there is no hope left in some area of your life. Do not give up on God, but hold on to His promises. He is faithful and will not fail in any of His promises. God has promised to save you in the end. Keep waiting quietly and patiently for Him to fulfill His promise to you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hope in the salvation of the Lord; that you will hope in the promises of God; and that you will wait for God to answer your prayers.
