Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift up your hands toward Him for the life of your young children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street. Lamentations 2:19
War is devastating and destructive. It will cause hunger and loss of life. Children are often left without parents or homes, becoming homeless as death reigns. During war, people are searching for peace, understanding, food, clothing and life, many of which cannot find these things on their own.
Jeremiah, in the light of the destruction of Jerusalem, tells the people to cry out at all times to God. They are to pour out their hearts and lift their hands before God for the life of their children, who are fainting from hunger in the streets.
Physical wars are devasting, as can be seen in various places around the world. People have to flee their homes for safety. There appears to be no more hope as cities are destroyed.
Although physical wars are devasting, there is a war that is going on that makes the physical wars seem like nothing. This is the spiritual war for the souls of people. It begins with the children. If he can get the children, he can get the entire world, because they are the next generation of leaders.
Satan has crept into the public schools to grab the hearts of the children and get them steeped in sin. He wants to destroy their lives, leaving them hungry for life and naked of anything good. All that is left for them is the coming judgement of God.
Believers need to cry out before God, lifting their hands to Him and seek His intervention in their lives. They, and all people, need to turn to God and have real life.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God for the lives of all children and other people; that you will be a witness to children you see; and that you will cry out for the souls of children around you.
