Lamentations 1:22 Sorrow For Sin

Let all their wickedness come before You, and do to them as You have done to me for all my transgressions; for my sighs are many and my heart is faint. Lamentations 1:22

Young children will often display great sorrow when they realize that they have done something wrong and made mom or dad sad. They will have a heavy heart and will often promise to try to do better the next time. Acting in this way is having an understanding of what is right and wrong and not justifying the wrong as good.

After the fall of Jerusalem, Jeremiah asks God to let the wickedness of others be seen and dealt with just as He had dealt with all of his transgressions. Jeremiah sighs because he knows he has sinned also, and his heart is faint.

Watching other people, it is easy for one to see or find the faults in them. Standing on the outside and looking in makes it easier to see anything that is wrong. Although one can see the faults in others, one must also take time to look inside self to see what faults one may also have.

When a nation falls, everyone is at fault for their own sins that brought the judgement of God upon it. It may just as simple as not telling someone about Jesus, or it may be purposeful sin.

Every believer has some sin in one’s life. The longer one is a believer, the less the amount of sin may be there and less the same types of sin. Believers should be constantly growing in the Lord and becoming more holy as Jesus is holy.

Yet, there is still some sin. One needs to have a faint heart due to any sin in one’s life. Regret and repentance for those sins is what is needed.

You can see the sins in other and the nation in which you live. This can be done without much work. Although you can see their sins, are you able to see your own sins? Can you see the faults of your own that may have led others into sin?

Take time to ask God to reveal any sin in you and to reveal things you could have done to change the ways of others. Any sin revealed in you must be repented of. Also repent of any failing to do God’s commission to bring the gospel message to the lost of this world.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will weep as Jesus wept for the lost; that God will reveal any sin or failings your life; and that you will repent of those sins.
