Jeremiah 11:7 Obey God’s Voice

For I earnestly exhorted your fathers in the day I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, until this day, rising early and exhorting, saying, “Obey My voice.” Jeremiah 11:7

Voices of authority can be found everywhere a person goes. Most often it is just someone in charge of a business or organization that gives the rules on what can and cannot be done. Second most often is with governmental authorities who are just enforcing the law of the land. When these authorities give a command, it is expected for those listening to obey.

Jeremiah quotes God talking about ever since He brought the Israelites up out of Egypt, He encouraged them to obey His voice, or what He says.

Every nation has authorities who attempt to get everyone to obey the laws of the land. Although those authorities strive to enforce those laws, many people continually break those laws on purpose. They hear the laws and know them but ignore them and do their own thing.

People are not only willing to break the laws of their own land, but they are willing to break the commands of God. He encourages people to listen to His words and obey them. Everything that God says is to bring life, not death or destruction. Sometimes it will be in what to do, while at other times it will be in what not to do.

God loves every person with a perfect love and only wants what is best for each and every individual. Believers need to be willing to obey His voice, whether they hear Him physically speaking to them, by His Holy Spirit, or whether they hear it from the Bible or through someone else. As one trusts God’s word and obeys His word, one will begin to know the abundant life God has for that person.

You have many voices in your life that try to tell you what you can and cannot do, should or should not do. While many of them may be good, there is only one that is perfectly good at all times. It is the voice of God in your life. When God speaks to you in some way, you must be quick to obey His voice. Trust and know that God loves you and only wants what is best for you and see God do great things in and through you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear God speak to you; that you will trust all that God tells you; that you will obey what God tells you; and that you will see God’s hand at work in your life as you obey His voice.
