No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; they conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. Isaiah 59:4
The majority of people around the world see themselves as a good person. They feel that because they do not do certain horrible things, that they are good. Everyone is following the ways of everyone else, going down the same path, not realizing that the path they are one is one leading to destruction and death. All they are seeking is pleasure in the moment, no matter what that looks like.
Isaiah says that no one is seeking justice or truth but are trusting in empty words and speaking lies. They are seeking ways to do more evil.
Throughout history mankind has been able to determine ways to invent new things or ways of doing things differently. Often these things can help get activities done in an easier way and sometimes can be for the good. However, along with doing good things, more often inventions are done to do greater evil and sin.
New ways have been made to kill unborn babies. Surgeries are made to “change” the gender of a person. Imagination runs wild and unrestrained to design movies promoting every type of sin imaginable as entertainment. Rules are made to allow sin against God and harm those who stand for the truth. Drugs, sex and immorality are promoted as good and a right for every person to have and do as one sees fit.
And often these things can be seen as acceptable in the church. Believers are to be set apart and different from the world. They are to flee all sin and the appearance of evil, seeking the truth of God. God’s word and truth must be spoken and lived out.
If you open your eyes, you will be able to see the sin that is being promoted around you as good. It will be easy for you to be caught up in the lies and evil of this world. Do not allow yourself to be deceived by the lies of the world and seek the evil of the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Seek to know the truth of God and to speak it for all the world to hear. Flee all sin and evil and seek God’s true justice for all. Do not believe the lies of this world.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the truth of God; that God will open your eyes to the lies of this world; that God will give you strength to flee the sin of this world; and that God will give you boldness to stand against the lies of this world.
